Not another oil thread

I just turned 10K with my 21 Sport oil’s been changed twice….. question is how often do you guys check your oil? I’m once a week, hasn’t used any at all.

 

O lordy......

I check each time I fill with fuel. Also check my tire pressures, including spare.

Its a habit I formed when driving POS mobiles in my HS days.

 

About once per month.

 

I change my oil once a week, that way i never have to check the levels

On the truck once a month or so. Check the '15 Camry a little more frequently as it does use a little. The beater car, well I won't even check it, I'll just add a quart every other time I drive it

 

You gotta figure that out. I check often on a new vehicle until I get used to the amount that they burn or not. My particular Taco doesn't seem to use any oil, so I take a quick peek at the dipstick when I'm messing with the washer fluid.

 

Can't be shade. I just looked out the window, sky is overcast, no sunshine today.

 

I checked it every time I fueled when it was new. Now maybe once between oil changes.

 

Every few months

 

I probably check once in between oil changes, maybe every 3 months? Usually when i give it a good wash and wax i'll pop the hood to dry and clean leaves out and i'll think to check it. Never lost a drop so i have no inclination to check more often

 

I check TP in my dash every time I drive it. Spare is every season when weather changes - 3 months or so

 

What do you use for your external filter setup?

TP is my favorite.

 

I run my oil thru my salt water tank sump and filters for about 8 hrs then pump it back in

 

I'm sure I check it sometime shortly after filling back up from an oil change. Short of that, not again till I do another oil change.

 

You like salty?

So, nightly or at a crazy high 1,000mi?

 

Toyota recommends 10-12 hours. Your running the risk of reduced engine lifespan.

Does anyone read the owners manual?

 

I love deep theoretical topic like "how often do you check your oil". I predict 15 pages of comments and multiple tangents on magnetic filtering.

 

My owners manual showed an image like someone jerking off in the oil while filtering so I was a little concerned about that...not sure i have 10-12 hrs of that kind of stamina
