Does anyone else think that maybe if you have to ask this question you may not be ready for vehicle ownership?

Just a note here that I recently discovered. The Taco has a sensor for low oil level. I didn't recall this in the OM, but it might be there.

I was parked up on a trail with the right side pretty high and the engine Off while waiting for some Jeeps to come through in the other direction. Oil level was just fine when rechecking it on level ground.

So, sudden oil usage is not a big thing to worry about if folks don't happen to catch it with rando checks.

Worse than the Whole Foods parking lot.

I do wish they'd have squeegees though.

That seems to be the 3rd Gen section in general. I often wonder if a lot of folks here got a Taco as their first vehicle ever.

I think once a week is fine if you do a lot of driving. Otherwise I'd think once a month is ok too.

    Always before any big trip.

Would sure be easier if they had hydraulic struts on the hood. I'm like 3 feet tall and it's a pain to lift
it etc - the wife's forester has 'em and it sure is nice.

How difficult / expensive is it to have them installed.

There are a few strut vendors. Some are right around $100 for a kit. I recall that one has an easier installation than the others but isn't as clean as the ones that used riveted brackets, which is the difficult part as they are SS rivets, I believe?

Factory struts are nice. I was surprised to discover that the hood on our Forester was aluminum.

I use Word Of The Day TP in my filter housing. That way I have smart oil that self levels. Less maintenance.

I have Redline hood struts on my truck.

There are other brands too... I am happy with mine. Just make sure you use a good self etching primer and paint on the holes where you drill to prevent rust. Black Friday is all most here, so sales could be had.
