Definetily agree on people becoming more distracted with ATs. Good luck texting and shifting gears, i mean its very possible, but not a great idea.

I hope this taco is not my last MT, if that would be the case, i would just rebuild engine and/or tranny and keep driving. Really hate the idea of driving AT.

i've been able to develop the one-handed texting technique and hold it in such a way i can still shift. not having a bigass iPhone MAXX Plus XXX Girthy Boi helps. there's a lot of car clubs in California that are trying to preserve the MT. if i had to guess, certain parts of the country probably want the space for their XL container of Hellman's to dip their freedom fries in.

Dont think the mods would be very happy with your one handed texting and driving technique.

The good news is the days of 4 speed automatics with no manual control are long gone. There was a time when ATs were expensive, slow, and inefficient. If people aren’t buying them they can’t afford to keep making them. I have a 350z with a manual, and it’s a lot more fun now that my daily driver is an Auto.

should have prefaced it was my high school (04-08) technique. although, i honestly feel more distracted trying to keep a coffee stable than i ever did with a phone.

No question that ATs are quicker and are as reliable as MTs nowdays, its just that fun factor. That feeling when the shifts are pefect, so satisfying, haha!

I might receive two texts a day if that. I couldn't imagine recieving so many texts that it would distract me from driving.

What could people I know have to say, that they haven't already said to me?

If you cant prove it doesnt cause cancer, then you have to say it might cause cancer. So technically, California already claims that the MT causes cancer.

Maybe what they're doing tomorrow night. There's no possible way that you could know what they'd be doing unless they told you. :D

Nice, that video even includes a 1st Gen Tacoma driving the other way. Unfortunately it is definitely an Auto.

When I was a kid, all I ever did was look out the window of the car and observe. I loved to do that. Now, all I ever see are kids that are not even 10 yet with phones in their hands. It's like the outside world doesn't exist to them. Sad.
When these kids reach the age to drive, they get some cvt civic and do the same shit, go on their phone.

I'm the only person I know who doesn't go on their phone and drive. I have friends who legit surf instagram and snapchat while driving. They leave 5 car length gaps in traffic because they're not paying attention, so I tell them "you're causing traffic." Their response is "there's already traffic." WTF. This is why I have so little friends now. Everyone pisses me off.

Point is, people would rather go on their phone with an auto, than have to pay attention to the road and shift gears.
