My totally stock truck has averaged 16.4 over the 4500 miles I have on it.
Only one road trip where I had a head wind one direction and got 14.5 on a tank there. Return trip had a 19.3 tank, included the Grapevine.
My commute is only 2.5 miles, but it has 9 stoplights.
    I'm no jack rabbit.
Mostly urban driving with 50-60 mph roads and lots of lights.
    I don't ever seeing averaging 20+

Its been in the 90's with the temperature here again. Latest fuel mileage has hit 23 mpg, and thats with about 20% city and the rest highway.

95% local driving. Other 5% is a mountainous trip into upstate NY maybe once every 6 weeks. 2700 miles total on the Taco and averaging 13.9 mpg. Did get 23 mpg on a tank once headed home from the mountains. Truck likes the highway but is thirsty in the city. Doing a NY to Fla round trip this winter it'd be great to pull some of those numbers some of you all claim. Don't really care much love it anyway.

Just moved from the mountains of Arizona to Knoxville, TN. I have to take an exception to the OP. My gas mileage in AZ was 22+. The mileage here has dropped significantly to 17 or 18 mpg. Navigating in Knoxville is a new experience. All the stop signs and traffic signals mean a lot of idling, which costs mileage big time.

2016 double cab long bed. I get 16-17 daily. 13 in the winter. 19-20 highway. I use the trip religiously and also calculate mpgs using distance and gallons. Always adds up same as the trip. When the tank gets low the warning always says I have way more miles left than I would ever trust.

My wife drives a 2021 Honda CRV. 1.5 liter turbocharged engine. I love it. That tiny ass engine is awesome and get 35+mpg.

Average about 15-16mpg after calculating for tire size difference, cruising 60-80mph with 37s, stock gears, 5700lb truck.
Dash average reads about 2-2.5 mpg low

nobody asked, but for the sake of the discussion...

Stock 2022 TRD Sport, bought used (stole it) with about 2K miles on it; OEM tires. Filled up on day one and have driven back and forth to work, 30% town + stoplights +some hills up and down/70% freeway (Relatively Flat with gradual up and down grades) 22.2 miles one-way. Tried to really take it easy… very slow and mellow starts, 65 to 70mph hover on freeway, no gunning it at all (no cruise control). Just filled up today #2 full tank… Dash says 20.2 mpg; hand calculation of 350.1 miles (odometer trip A) divided by 17.987 gallons (auto pump stop) = 19.46 mpg. (curious if GPS would have measured different miles). Now, on tank 2, I’m taking it less easy… keep up with traffic or faster on a green light and pick up faster after the stop signs. Merge a little more aggressively and don’t let the up-hill bits slow me down; basically, normal driving. Interested to see what normal driving will do to the dash and hand calc.. 6 or 8 days from now, I should know. After that tank, I’ll install the Lomax Matte Tri Fold (thanks @truckalter) and do two tanks similar (easy and more aggressive(normal)) just to see if anything changes. The small differences likely won’t make a difference in the long run, just a nerd interested in the results (although not really super scientific). Cheers Amigos

I pull about 19 on average. Never seen 21+

usually about 320 till empty each tank. Drive pretty conservative. Tires aren’t incredibly oversized, but I’m sure 265/75/16’s contribute. Also, lifted 2.5” (suspension, no spacers or blocks).
