I echo your comments Jim.

I'm 3rd gen carpenter, and my dad taught me early. I knew I'd never be rich and I'd never be poor.

Like Jimmy Buffett says: "Some of its been magic & some of its been tragic, but I've had a good life all the way"

That's awesome, you deserve it. My family has owned commercial contracting companies my whole life. I can see the life draining from my dad everyday. Sounds like you worked your ass off and had the sound judgement to save money. I can't wait to retire too. I started working for the fire dept when I was 18, I'm finished at 43.

Looks like a great place. I have a friend who lives in the panhandle. Bayside near Santa Rosa Beach. Just got back home from visiting him a couple weeks ago. I love the area. Some day, I would like to uproot to somewhere near there. Enjoy!

Very nice setup and location. Kudos. I was gonna ask where's the 3rd garage until I saw pic of the shop, lol. Gotta love the cul-de-sac. Ours is a nice oversized pie shaped lot due to the 3 car garage and cul-de-sac. Hoping to add florider (fat chance) or pool and some sort of shop to eliminate some of the mowing in the back yard. Enjoy the new digs.

We lived in Destin for about 20 years, and moved east in 2008 to Santa Rosa Beach. We love the area. Great beaches, awesome fishing, low population. It only sucks in the summer a bit from the influx of tourists. I know they are a necessary part of the economic equation...but it gets worse each year. And while most are good folks I'm sure...many I can live without.

Thankfully, it comes to an end soon. Kids go back to school in August here in the deep south, and by about the middle of August...we get our town back.

The fall here is wonderful. Less heat. Less humidity. Fewer bugs. Fewer SUVs and mini vans. :D

no problem...carry on as you please

Does the area get much of a spring break crowd, or do they mostly stay in PCB?

Destin spring break crowd grows each year...and the highway 30-A area along the beach in Santa Rosa Beach as well...

But for most southern college kids...

Panama City Beach is still, the place to be.
