Its always the broken hardware that gets you. You start out with the tiny bits, trying to keep it centered on the stud. As you go up in size, sooner or later its going to "walk" to the side and start eating the aluminum on either side. Then you're basically fingerfucking a half steel, half aluminum hole thats getting bigger and bigger.. with a half moon of hardened steel still stuck down in the hole :annoyed:

    Very frustrating..

or precision instruments...Maybe a step down from CDI? The quality is pretty solid. I believe they make the snap-on torque wrenches. USA made. Just picked up this last week as an upgrade over my old craftsman:

Precision Instruments PREC3FR250F Silver 1/2" Drive Split Beam Torque Wrench with Flex Head https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002XMSFIM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bO0XEbSWWFNHE

I’ve always been a craftsman guy but slowly I’ve been replacing with Tekon. I think their quality is great for the price and I LOVE that their socket and wrench sets don’t skip sizes. I remember the days of trying to sift through craftsman sets trying to find the one that had all the right sizes in 6pt. Tekon makes it easy.

For power tools I’ve really enjoyed Ryobi. They are reasonably priced and great build quality. Their 1/2” 18v impact wrench was $100 and has taken anything I’ve thrown at it.

Just bought a Wright metric deep socket set, which is made in the USA, a bit pricey, but hopefully the quality’s worth it, haven’t received them yet:

    Wright Tool 355 3/8" Drive, Deep Metric Socket Set 6mm - 19mm (14-Piece) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002GKFDHM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_WT7XEbR1JZBZR

I purchased a Tekton torque wrench to replace my old beam torque wrench, I used it for the first time on my 3rd gen front coil swap and it worked great:

    TEKTON 1/2 Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench (10-150 ft.-lb.) | 24335 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5ZL0RU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_tU7XEbPW4XNA3

I also purchased the following 6 ton jack stands that I’ve used a couple times and really like them, I have 3 ton Torin jack stands that have worked great. I like these new stands because they’re double pin:

    Pro-LifT T-6906D Double Pin Jack Stand - 6 Ton, 1 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074R17GL4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_x17XEb0XJFB4V

Ive been carrying this around for years, maybe it came with the landrover we had in the 70s? thoughts? Honestly not a precision adjustable(if there is such a thing), but its a cool tool for the kit just because.

^^^Nice website. A quick look through the carpentry section has a decent selection of hand tools at very reasonable pricing. This link looks like a keeper.

FJ55. We lived in Connecticut and the frame and body rusted out in Just a couple years. The local dealership wouldn’t do anything about it. My father called Japan, and the next day it was picked up and we had a full refund. I guess rust is not a new problem for Toyota, lol.
