Here is another pic for perspective. I'm not really sure why Some people are saying you can't put a rear facing carseat in a access cab. There are designated anchor points on the passenger side just for this purpose. It's how my firstborn came home from the hospital because my wife and I had not bought our family SUV yet and she still had her little cavalier which was a pain.

I wonder if the people who say you can't do it have actually ever tried it? I'm not saying it's ideal...thats what the family vehicle is for, but it will work. And once they are forward facing it's dang near convenient.

Nope....at 5' 3" she had even more let room than I did!

Is it possible the 06 access cabs have a bit more space than the 07s? Honest question.

Not the kids fault. This is often due to slacker parents. My kid will say yes sir, yes ma’am, please and thank you. Screen time is only earned after you have completed all of your daily responsibilities and if the teacher says you had a good day at school and were a good listener. He asks to be excused from the table and clears his own place setting and helps with dishes. He knows patience is key and can order is own meal politely at a restaurant. He just turned 4. I’m appalled by behavior of kids several years older than him that do not have his level of manners. Too many lazy parents put zero disapline into raising their kids these days, but the kids behavior is the symptom, the parenting is the cause.

11 year old truck, only 85,000 miles? Is that right? Not missing 100k somewhere?

My friend owns a steak and hoagie place and one time last year I filled in as a delivery driver. It was a relatively slow day, and at one point in the late afternoon I found myself on my iPhone texting with my friend who owned the place. A father with like 3 hyper young kids comes in and these 3 boys are all over the damn place!

There's a half-wall separating the eating area from the entry area, and one of these little bastards places both hands on the wall and begins jumping up and down, seemingly trying to read my text message. I didn't have anything to hide, but that's not the point. I gave the kid an "Are you fucking serious?" look and then demanded to know what he was doing. I was coming down with a bad cold, I wasn't in the best mood, and all of a sudden this trio of little brats comes in screaming and carrying on...

The father has the nerve to tell me to chill out, and I ended up storming out without a word and spending the rest of my delivery shift in my Tacoma...

They're hard to find, but they are out there!

In April 2015, I met a guy with an '05 RC 5-lug automatic, and it had only 55K miles (no pictures, but it's nearly identical to my truck)!

My doctor of all people (who could probably makes enough money to buy a Rolls-Royce) has an '07 AC TRD Sport with only 70K miles on the clock (Photo taken last fall in the doctor's office parking lot; that's mine next to it)...

My aunt and uncle live in Northern California...

In October 2017, their neighbor picked up an '08 RC 5-lug auto with just 20K on the clock!

Wish I could have kept my access cab! Wife is 5'8 and I'm 6'1 so no way.

For shorter people it could work but would still be far from convenient on long trips

One of my biggest reasons for keeping my truck is that it's paid for, and it was a gift! It was originally my dad's. My dad bought it new about a month and a half after I got my learner's permit (as a replacement for our aging '96 Pathfinder, so I'd have a new and safer vehicle to drive), I kinda started driving it more than he did once I finally got my license (took the driver's test in it too), and he gave it to me as a Christmas present in 2016. So, I've got a free and clear Pennsylvania Certificate of Title in my name...

That's my biggest motivation for keeping my truck!

My dad's best friend has a 2000-2001ish Lexus RX300. Back in 2005, when his son was just a baby, he changed a diaper in the cargo area of the Lexus. He absentmindedly put the used (and thoroughly pooped-in) diaper on the roof of the Lexus, and then proceeded to drive off with the poopy diaper on the roof! I doubt he made it to the turnpike before the diaper flew off and splattered on some poor bastard's car...

More than 12 years later, my dad's friend still has that Lexus as a third vehicle and intends on giving it to his son once he turns 16 and gets his license!

That's awesome. Good to hear some people can still do it right. I'm so glad my parents had the conviction to discipline me. it's helped me so much in my later life.

fair enough. i do as well. had a 25 year old car as a daily driver for a while. then i bought the tacoma. it's so nice turning the key and not worrying about what is going to happen.

personally, i would go withe the current tacoma or a newer one as the daily driver and if you want still want an old ford, buy that as a toy.

    either way.. good luck

Depending how tall or big you are, you COULD make it work...will it be fun? No, it’ll get the job done, you don’t get rid of your truck and financially don’t have to change a thing besides diapers and etc lol!
