Not so much a build thread as my Taco history thread

Plus CarPlay and the multi terrain camera. If an army green pro with manual showed up somewhere, it’d likely end up in my garage.

Ya, I skipped on the multi terrain camera wasnt worth the extra $740, it was all grainy and crappy picture wise, when I played with it at the dealer, otherwise mine is spec'd to the max and happy with it. Carplay is okay, sucks its not wireless, but I'm an apple guy so I like it especially when using maps.

Some guy just scored an Army Green Manual for $41k here. Only $2k more than what I paid for my OR auto. Do it...

And I thought I was bad, with 3 3rd Gens (and an '85, '92 from back in the day)

Although Monday I was at the dealer I got my truck at, looking at a possible daily (2004 SR5, AC, rwd) for dirt cheap on the back lot, and ran the numbers on a 2020 OR DCSB in Stormtrooper white... with the current financing offers.... I had to walk away.

Which one was the most trouble free?

I'm trying to determine if pandemic supply chain problem Toyota dropped the ball in terms of build quality and you sir probably have the biggest real world owner sample size

I just picked up my lunar rock this morning. The 16 was riddled with new gen issues (2 rear difs replaced, whistling control arms, rattling dash speaker cover, plastic discoloration and leaking brake light cover) nothing major but a headache. Every year though fit and finish seems the same, undistinguishable. My 2020 had the most miles for 3rd gens, 46k not a single issue. The 01 I drove till 308k. My 2022 seems identical to the rest. I will say the 2nd gens were also problem free one I traded at 68k the other 89k no issues and easy to wrench on yourself.

TE37xt’s ordered and Fox 2.5 setup, let the games begin and the wallet empty.

Love the Lunar Rock man. Beautiful color. Welcome fellow Birmingham area resident. I saw your post about Serra. I saw a Solar Octane for sale there. I went with a 2025 Terra from Tuscaloosa Toyota instead.

Thanks! Lol yep been here since 2021/22, I’m in Trussville but work downtown. Serra was great for service (when included, do now on my own), Josh W. actually knows how to wrench there. I agree Tuscaloosa was best when I was shopping 4th gens. May reach out to them now that wife wants a GHH nightshade to replace her GX460 though I’d rather not.
