OK, so Saturday I played Paintball and Sunday I noticed streaks on my truck. Of course I tried every remedy imaginable to the point of further damaging the paint. Now I've just given in and contacted the insurance company and filed the claim. I took it to a pro shop that specializes in detail work and they said it would need to be repainted; The clear coat has been raised. Anyhow, I can't imagine Paintball, which is made of vegetable oil, to be the culprit. The strips running down the truck are odd in that there is no impact point just scattered running damage in various areas of the front/rear doors and quarter panel. :infantry::confused::mad:

Yea those are paintball streaks. I know from experience. Was in the tournament scene for a long time. Get that stuff off ASAP it can eat into the paint if you leave in on there too long, especially if the sun is beating down on it.

Yeah that's the problem: if its Paintball it was on the truck in the hot sun for two days before I discovered it, as it is on the passenger side of the truck. Seldom venture that way. The damage is done!

Buff it out the best you can. Filing an insurance claim is the last thing I would do. You're gonna get stuck with the deductable (prolly $500 at least) they will pay the remaining $2-300 for the repair and raise your rates $25 a month. Bottom line is your paying for it all and more when your rates increase.

    Man that sucks!

When I play paintball, I park as far away from the field as possible, so that this doesn't happen! The further I walk, the safer my truck is!

If the state of VA is anything like CA - his rates won't go up, it's a comp claim

Try using Mother's Clay Bar on it. I've removed dried yellow street paint with it.

Someone else recommended the clay bar. I'm going to wait until after I meet with the insurance peps before I do anymore damage to the paint. I want to find a good detailer to do the work as I am not skilled other than a simple wash. Anyhow, I meet with the adjuster Monday morning and we'll see what they suggest. Hopefully, not to paint.

If I was still down in the area I'd offer to buff it out for ya... that doesn't look THAT bad.

I had my '00 Black 4Runner parked in a Park-n-Fly for a week while a 100 foot highway sign was being painted. The overspray covered all 300+ cars in the lot with pale grey paint speckles. I had a detailer buff and wax and it took 99% of the paint off.
