Not sure if I like my wheels

I bought my Taco about 3 weeks ago with the Ultra Maverick 17" rims and Nitto Grapplers in 265/65R17. I do like the tires for the more rugged look, although it's not as practical for my use of the truck...no off-roading, mostly hwy miles driving 72 miles round trip to work 5 days a week, and driving around town. I wouldn't mind a slightly taller tire, say 265/70R17, but I think it would require a lift. That's not the big issue, though.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Mavericks. From a distance, they kinda look like this pointy 5 star configuration. The tires come into play because when looking at new wheels, I need to decide if I want some that compliment the off-road look of the current tires, or do I want to change the tires and wheels to more of a street look. Cheaper option is wheels only. But here's the thing. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels at all and won't buy them, but I do have a chrome bumper and chrome trim on the grille. I think alloy polished wheels would compliment that best, rather than all black wheels. If I were going with another wheel that has a combo of black and polish, I definitely want more polish than black. Just hard to visualize how some wheels I've looked at will look on my truck. I'm overthinking it, I know. In the end, I'll probably just stick with what I have, but it keeps nagging at me. Even after a fresh wash and wax, these wheels look dull from a few feet off. The finish and design are irritating me.

Any recommendations for a polished wheel that has some shine to it and would look good on these tires? My mag wheels back in the day used to glow when they were polished but they don't make them like that anymore from what I've seen.

I'm sorry. What is an xp Maverick package? Some dealer fluff up thing like the Texas Edition?

Do you like the stock Sport wheels? Off Road wheels? You'd probably easily find someone that would do a 1 for 1 swap with you for your setup.

I'm afraid so. I didn't want to remove it myself. My luck, I'll screw the paint up.

I don't care for the wheels or the pinstripe.

Pinstripe is easy. Let it sit in the sun, lift up an edge and pull with constant pressure. Don't jerk or the tape will break.

Good pressure, no jerking. I'm sure you've had that advice in life already.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
They are better than the sport wheels IMO. I'm sure you can go with a 1/2 inch taller tire without issues.

I agree. I also think removing the pinstripe will really add to the visual appeal of the truck. Maybe try removing the pinstripe before you change the wheel setup as I guarantee it will change the whole look of it.

I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes. With the truck being new, shouldn't be too difficult....hopefully.

You can fit 265/70/17 no problem, just stick with a less aggressive A/T. I switched from 265/65/17 Ko2s to 265/70/17 Dynapro A/Ts. Noticeable difference in gas mileage and ride quality.

Pinstripe is one of the easier things to remove.

    Just take your time.

Hopefully the stripes not painted on, still removeable though. If it's a fairly new stripe it'll come off easily and probably with no heat.

I like those wheels. I'll trade you my off-road snowflakes for your stars. But since you are in Georgia the shipping would probably kill that idea. Not to mention my truck is on blocks until they get here.
