Not waiting for the hybrid, will there be buyer's remorse?

    Lol "no real benefit". Have you driven one? I own a 2023 hybrid Tundra. That extra torque (583 lb ft) at low RPM is like a diesel. I tow a travel trailer, so I can absolutely say there is a benefit, and it was absolutely worth the extra coin for it.

    I am sure the hybrid Taco will be similar - is for torque, not mileage. Although I will note my Tundra gets 18.4mpg right now while my Taco got 17 in similar driving conditions.

    YMMV of course.

    Toyota hybrid trucks have nothing to do with fuel economy or the environment, it’s all about more power and torque.

    Oh, thanks for the clarification. I thought hybrids uses less gas and supposedly get better MPG.

    This is true in my RAV4 hybrid, it goes from 30mpg for the standard ICE, to 40+ mpg in the hybrid. I think the difference is, those vehicles that do get a massive boost to fuel economy, also have an eCVT transmission. I always wondered how they'd get the fuel economy in an off road vehicle without keeping that eCVT.
