Since this piece of aluminum yardstick goes from ~21" to ~28", I am guesing that 28" to 36" was the 1st failed attempt.

Well if you end up taking it off I'll give you a few bucks for it! I've got the supercharger and heard it's a good addition

LOL...I have that same ruler, but mine is still straight. Gives me an idea for future uses for it.

If you ever get any lean codes or vacuum leaks, this would be the first thing to check. Definitely be careful opening it the first time, who knows how much is in there. Definitely not needed on an NA engine but probably won't hurt anything either. I'm of the personal opinion that oil mist sucked from the crankcase through the intake will provide a bit of upper cylinder lubrication

The ruler is for checking the gaps on the spark plugs quickly.

I think the ruler mount is a great touch! That's some improvisation!

I read an article a while ago where there were tuning an engine and the catch can made a slight difference. They could see it in the knock sensor tables. The octane rating of fuel was higher with the catch can because the fuel mix was not being diluted with oil vapors. The oil vapors lowered the octane rating thus lowering power output as timing had to be pulled. Now this was for an LS tuned performance engine so not sure if it would make any difference to the taco. I think the LS was blown as well.
