I assume because the bracket that holds the body pannel in place isnt attached and it flaps around in the wind like a you know what, it just broke.

Im talking with Satin at Pelfreybilt about a rear bumper. Ill probably have to have a drink or 10 after she tells me how much im looking at.

Just build one! I'm going to order a front one and make a rear one. It'll be easier that way.

I have dents in both my box sides

It would be funner to make one! And there's less lines that you have to follow so it would be easier! Plus then I can get what I want!

Maybe we should team up, make a template out of cardboard or doorskin, and we can all weld up awesome rear bumpers!

Seems to me there's a vendor on here that posted pics of them building a front bumper, template was cardboard ;) I have no welding knowledge but I'm all for someone designing one and we all go in on paying for steel/heat, side note, no swing out, not interested lol

I would like something with simple, clean lines. Uses factory license plate lights. Compatible with factory hitch. 7 pin wire harness through the bumper. Takes a couple 3/4 inch shackles for towing. Hi-lift jack points. A couple rubber pads so that not every contact with the things I back into breaks the stuff that's in my way. Built with just enough compound angles to be rigid without having to use too thick a plate.

I know that some would want the hitch integrated to improve clearance, I think that could be a simple variation from the general pattern. A swing out could also be an option for those who want it, just so long as there is a spot on the general pattern to weld that on.

I think offset plate is definitely the way to go.

I need to get access to a 240v MIG welder. I miss the good old days in the Blacksmith's shop.

Integrated side step on the corners would be handy, 'D' ring shackle mounts, I'm not overly handy with photoshop/paint, but I'm sure someone can gear an idea up

I got an elementary school level drawing of Mitch's concept texted to me a couple days ago and it looks better than factory! haha. I'd love to see a full sized mock up of it!!!

I also like the side step idea Fahrenheit!

Also a good idea Duncan, are you thinking like a cube van type of rubber bumper on the bumper? Sounds like it would be very industrial which would look great I think! By the way I saw you in dartmouth crossing the other day but I was in the lady's Hyundai so my waves went unnoticed lol!

Yes, that kind of rubber. Removable, replaceable, cheap.

If you saw me in Dartmouth Crossings, I was probably on a mission to get in and out of Canadian Tire. Sorry I missed you! I'll wave twice next time.

PS, the canoe rack is fully painted now. How is your safari rack coming?
