Are you in the Halifax area? I have never yet had the chance to try to talk to anyone with my CB. I drive around with it set on scan, and sometimes I hear people talking, but never anyone nearby.

I'd like to test mine, if you like we might try to meet up. Maybe get a few more of the locals in?

Edit: I should note that I have only had mine in for about a week

I'm in Dartmouth. It'd be fun too meet up and get a few more locals in. My truck's not lookin looking pretty right now though... I put the cap on for camping and it's a major PITA to take off so I'm rolling around with a mismatched cap.

I don't have scan so I'm just sticking to channel 1. If you see an ugly 2nd gen with a crap mag-mount on the roof, try and hit me up on channel 1.

We use 16 in the valley. 1 is for truckers, gives me entertainment on my drives to work.

Cap on for camping = looks awesome in my books.

I'm going to be away on and off for the next couple weeks (vacation!) but I will definitely hit you up if I see you. My 4 door is black and the 4' antenna is mounted about 2/3 of the way back on the driver's side box rail. Also, I often have a very functional but not pretty canoe rack on.

My friend, who runs HAM radios, had an antenna analyzer for the week so we tuned mine. I got it below 2.0 across the band, but never got a really good SWR.

Oh hell no. I picked up an Asus ROG for work a few months ago because we JUST got our Geo software working on Windows 8.1, and I do not feel like turning that into an expensive paperweight. Might dig up my old HP work laptop on Windows7 and give it a try for entertainment though.

What go software are you running? I'm a geography major. Mainly into the economic side but it's all interesting to me!

The WellSight Suite of logging software (vertical/horizontal striplogs), CoreCAD, sometimes Schlumbergers Petrel, and on rare occasions Kingdom. The last two less often since they're usually on an office desktop.

Also some microscope camera software interface packages that generally run like shit no matter what and never get updated by the companies haha.

For a while I had to run WellSight in an XP Virtual Machine. So glad thats a thing of the past.

Ha! I haven't used those since school. Used to spend a lot of time using arcGIS, arcMAP, and Idrisi Taiga.
