I thought the same thing. Not nearly as mini as I expected!

Would love to give the 2-Door JCW a go.

The Countryman is large in comparison to the "regular" Coopers for sure. With the wheelchair it is sort of a must along with the auto trans..... But the fun factor is still very much there. If this new addiction does take ahold I could see acquiring a Clubman S to mod a bit more. But that is a few years down the line. Like having a dedicated trail truck...You always want one but rarely get around to doing it

Yeah, it was still an absolute hoot to drive. Especially in contrast to a Tacoma.

It really started out as us chasing a social activity to get us out of the house. My wife works from home so she will go for days without leaving and we knew some folks that were involved in the Mini world already....Soooo.

Sorry for the hi-jack guys. It's new and fun and so different from off roading. Althooooough there are 2 inch lift kits for the Countryman All4 and my wife likes the look...lol. Me? I want to go lower and faster. I have a truck on 33's if I feel that urge to be up in the air....lol

I find it really weird when I'm rolling around in the Lexus and a bike is next to me at the stop light and his knee is at my eye level... I'm used to being able to see over their head hahaha

It is an odd sensation. We were away in the car for three days and Monday morning when I got in the FJ to go to work I stopped at the end of the driveway and felt like I was ten feet in the air. Took about ten minutes of driving to get over the sensation of being so far up....lol. Same deal as back in the day when I was in a Freightliner for days and a time and then would get in my Tacoma....lol....Felt like my butt was going to drag on the ground.

I went from a Volvo S40 to my first gen (which isn't a big truck at all) and I felt like I was driving an Abrams at first... Now it feels like a golf cart ffs

The thing I am noticing the most is that the Mini requires concentration. I literally have to think about driving it. The FJ just seems to lumber down the road. You know....Frig with the radio...... Get around a turn without sending everything loose flying across the back seat.....GPS....Mind wandering about whatever errand I am on and I get there. With the little car I am looking at curves and thinking about gear selection. Feeling boost come on and off and planning for that kick in the ass and where I will be in a turn when it spools up. I guess that is why they call it "performance driving". I have had small cars before but as a guy told me I have never had one with 200hp before....He is right.

This is exactly how my car feels when I wind it out. Feels boring around the city. But if you hold it in first and seccond and you hit the seccond vvti stage, shit gets fast.

First in the Mini is pretty harsh.... 1st and second are quick without much lag. But third and 4th have just enough lag to get ready for the turbo to spool up and hit the power surge. Not a huge kick in the ass but enough that you have to get ready and be aware it is coming. On the highway knocking it back from 6th gear cruising into 5th and hitting it will reward you would effortless passing. 3rd is probably my favorite for the twisty's though. Easy to stay in the power band.

Is the mini boost by gear?
And I'm just here like "I'm gonna push buttons and frig with the gear shift to make noises and try and guess how fast I'm going"

Hi Jordan, spotted you in the Wendy's drive through on my way back in to work this evening... or at least your (old?) truck. Did you sell your UCAs yet?

I have come across a set of bronze TRD wheels, at a good price. Just wondering if anyone here would be interested in my powder coated 17" trd sport rims (no sensors) with Hankook Dynapro ATm tires, before I put them on kijiji. I don't know how many km's are on the tires, because I switch them out with winters. You could get another year or two out of them though I think, if rotated out for winters. The rims balance, but one requires more weight than the others (I actually bought them off of Jordan a few years ago, and he told me the same thing), and I have had no problems with them. I was gonna put them on kijiji for $800, and I don't think I'd take any less than $600 for them.

    Here's what tread is left

Quick questions for everyone here, I have started to notice tiny rust pits (on the surface of my paint) and was hoping I caught this early enough to take care of it before my body panels start rusting out. I hear of people on this website mention Clay bar'ing the truck to remove dust/dirt/baked on particles.
Do you think this would help in my scenario or am I doomed to slowly be eaten alive by rust? And if it could potentially help, where does one buy this 'Clay Bar' thingy?
