Clay bars normally just remove stuff stuck to your paint. It might get rid of some of the rust stains though. I can't see why it would hurt to clay bar it and then use a paint pen and fix the rock chips with that.

Canadian Tire has a decent little kit that comes with the spray too. Works really well but it wont take out rust spots.

Thanks for the information guys, I should clarify that the rust I am finding is from flakes of metal sitting on the paint and rusting, as I can wipe them off with my finger. But I would like to do a thorough clean and hopefully keep ahead of it this time around. I was pretty anal about washing once a week, or every other week, but slacked off the past year.

and a picture for the hell of it! Here is a set of ditch light brackets I made recently. I have them installed along with the lights, I will grab some pictures of that and my new bumper lights, sometime soon.
    Cheers

Nice, where do you fab the metal at?

I did them in my garage at home! I got the metal free from work (scrap pieces, i don't know the thickness, but decent) and found the template for the brackets on the DIY Tacoma facebook group. After cutting out the templates with a zip-disk :sawzall:, I used a bench grinder to clean them up, and a hand propane torch to heat up the bend spots and went at it with a hammer haha

I only recently started working with steal and fab'ing brackets and things. I used the above method for my Bussman fuse box install, as well as a tablet* mount in the cab. I need to come up with a better way of bending the steal as beating it with a hammer kinda dings it up at the same time.

You can use relief cuts aswell. If I need a "precision bend" I'll cut it half way or so with a cutting disc (nice and straight) and then you can warm it up and itll bend right on your relief cut. Depending on how strong you need something to be you can weld in your cut after it's bent (short welds to prevent warping).

Not a fan of these tires, but I will have to wear them down before I can afford to get new ones. I am torn though, I really like the sport rims in black I had on. Not sure if i'm gonna keep these, or sell them and put my others back on.
On a side note, does anyone know anyone willing to trade a regular black hood for a sport hood + cash? (black, 2012-2015)

Yeah, I got them from my cousin. He bought them from the dealer when he got his truck new. I told him if he ever sold his truck, i'd buy them from him. So he's trading his 2012 in on a new one, so I bought them, because they are hard to come by around here.

Hard to come by everywhere. I've only seen them a handful of times in person

I was never a fan of the bronze beadlocks, but they look really good on your black truck!

I really like the ones on your truck. Are they the black or graphite? It is kinda hard to tell in the pics. The black I thought, would be ideal for mine if could find a set, but I am digging the bronze the more I look at them. Like you said, they really seem to work with the black truck.
I have decided I am going to keep them. (That didn't take long, haha)

Usually you can get them on the US Ebay.....But with the dollar and shipping it gets pricey quick. I know quite a few FJ folks who have painted the face black and even some that have painted/PC/Dipped the trim rings too. I like this set up.[IMG]

$290/each from a guy at the Calgary Toyota dealer. (Plus 5% tax)
Best price I could find because the shipping and exchange rate make American purchases unlikely.

And $290 doesn't include the required lugs either.

Someone did cross reference the TRD lugs through McGard and got them for a fraction of the cost, but $150 for lugs is quite an expense, but without research you'd need them. I think my wheels were around $275/ wheel plus shipping plus the 15% tax.... fack...
