Hope everyone is enjoying the winter weather lately!
Couple shots from last nights drift session:

And a winter project on the go: Thinking of keeping the lips a brushed steel, and have the middle area distressed sanded grey/metal. Then a clear coat over it all to seal it up! Thoughts/Suggestions?:

This was behind folly. Measured 10", an actual 10" with a tape measure. Lol

    Hey guys. How y'all been?

Not a spec of snow left in Hampton NB. Looks like late fall out there. Back into the deep freeze though.

    Same here.
no snow, just rain, freeze, thaw, repeat.

Was thinking about how I want my truck to evolve and making a budget for it. Does anyone have any experience with S.O.S Concepts? I like their front bumper, especially the "weld it yourself" part but i'm a bit hung up the safety inspection aspect, think anyone would fail me come inspection time for the bumper? ( assuming my welds don't look like garbage )

One of the group chats I'm in has a bunch of guys with that gear and one guy helps out around their shop.

It honestly depends on who inspects it. My truck passed last time with no sway bar and "bad LBJ's" (I still haven't replaced them, they're not bad).

I know of a guy in Pirate who had a bunch of work done to his FJ and it failed inspection due to "engineering" of the lift.

When it comes to a bumper, I imagine you're pretty safe. Worst case, find a lick and stick!

If anyone wanted to light up their 4x4 switch easily, better buy the stuff soon, only 4 kits left. I bought one of these last year, and it looks stock once done. its a shame he's not making them anymore.

when's the next coffee meet? Trail run perhaps? @Canoehead is penciling out an offroad camper, and lately all he's been getting is my crappy ideas, lol.

I *may* be able to do Sunday night.

** one last thing ** anyone have a spare hazzard swtich ( with the clock ) lying around or going to a junkyard soon? I need one for a project I'd like to start ( think Scangauge, but cheaper )

Are you planning on building a storage type offroad (basically a box that gets skinned with sheet metal) that can house the cookware/water/rtt/etc? Or more of a offroad camper style, like a camper with pop outs and whatnot?

Quick question for everyone, has anyone performed the exhaust re-route on a v6? I am *slowly* :turtleride: moving towards skids on the taco, and first I want to get the exhaust tucked up. Did you get it done by a friend, a shop? How much did it cost to have done?

*Edit: I got a quote that it could be $450 - $800 depending on if he ran into issues. He would use pre-bent pieces, where I would rather a 1 piece bent as necessary.

What I envision is a basic cargo trailer, set up with a sleeping platform similar to the ones people set up in truck beds. I'll use it to carry the camping stuff packed in action packers, and haul the stuff out of the way of the bed once I set up. I hope to get a propane distribution manifold set up so I can run stove, heater, lantern, hot water etc. without having to fuss around with unpacking that gear and hooking it up every time. I want to keep it small and light, very simple and fast to set up and tear down, and cheap. No compromise on sleeping comfort though, the mattress is key.

The trailer I am looking at right now is not an inspiring sight. It may be too rusted to be worth picking it up. Still, if I can spruce up the metal without too much more than paint, the potential is definitely there... and it will double as an awesome utility trailer.

    Wish me luck.
