Yes sir, coming up with the Taco, and a 27' travel trailer in tow. We like sight seeing, museums, shopping, eating, attractions of any kind, wineries and breweries for sure...things like that. We like to get up in the morning and just take off for the day, and return to our camp site in the evening for a late dinner by the fire. Thanks for your response too.....

So the Annapolis Valley where I live is the main winery area of Nova Scotia, there are tons of them here, also lots of breweries and even a few distilleries. I would recommend Luckett winery http://luckettvineyards.com/ or Jost winery https://jostwine.ca/ though Jost is on the Northumberland shore, there are a lot of other wineries in the valley which I am sure you can find info on from the Nova Scotia gov't website I posted earlier. If you like military aviation history and checking out older planes and that sort of thing there is the Greenwood Aviation Museum located in Greenwood where I live though it isn't huge, they have about 8-10 older and some newer military planes on display outside plus all of the stuff in the museum itself. The reason I mention greenwood is that its only about a half hour to 45 mins past the winery area... I'd recommend a day spent exploring the Annapolis Valley if you want to explore wineries... Also maybe check out the Lookoff above Grand Pre which is fairly close to the Winery part of the valley and has expansive views of the valley. You can also walk on the mud flats when the tide is out in Grand Pre which is a pretty neat experience if you like that sort of thing plus there is a neat Botanical garden in Grand Pre... You could also travel a ways farther past the winery part of the valley and Visit Annapolis Royal which I believe is the oldest settlement in North America but don't quote me on that :).

If you like the idea of the history of the Titanic the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic https://maritimemuseum.novascotia.ca/ on the Halifax Waterfront has a very neat Titanic display area plus a lot of maritime type displays. There is also Citadel Hill just above the Halifax waterfront which is an old fort that is in the shape of a star and is kind of neat if you're into military history https://hmhps.ca/sites/citadel-hill. Of course Halifax, being the biggest city in the province, has some amazing restaurants, theaters, bars, breweries and all of that kind of stuff plus walking downtown you can see our legislature building which I believe is the oldest in North America though, again, don't quote me on that plus the head bank of the Bank of Nova Scotia is a really cool old building and is directly across the street from the legislature building and also the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is directly beside it, if you're into Art Galleries. I would recommend spending at least a day exploring Halifax as it's a beautiful city with a ton of attractions to visit.

Someone mentioned Peggy's cove and of course there is the ovens which is a series of caves near Peggy's Cove though I have to admit that I have sadly never been to either... and I've heard the ovens are not that exciting... If you go to Peggy Cove be sure to check out Lunenberg which is a very nice little town with an extensive boat building heritage and has some great restaurants etc. Someone else would have to fill you in on more info about the South shore (which is where Peggy's Cove etc are located) as this is the part of our province I have explored the least.

If you're into a 5 hour drive you could visit Cape Breton which has Fortress Louisburg which is another old school fort (that I have never visited) and is located in an amazingly beautiful part of the province.

I've rattled on way too long but I definitely think I've probably given you a lot of stuff you can check out online before you come to decide which things interest you the most.

If you have any questions or want more info on anything feel free to ask, I think you'll find the average Nova Scotian is very friendly and more than willing to help/answer questions :)

I got to take a tour of Oak Island last year or maybe the year before, it's a nice little spot but honestly not very exciting to visit as it's not really a lot to look at when you are there, you can see 99% of it on the show...

So, I did my little adventure in the tacoma last month, and for having almost 360,000km on it, it surprised me.

Averaged 23mpg the entire way, and cost me $655.71 total, thats Sydney - Halifax -Montreal (damn tunnel) - Ottawa - Toronto - Ottawa - Halifax - Sydney. If I had of done it a straight shot to Ottawa instead of going to Halifax, I probably could of cut down my fuel cost some more, but it was my first time going past Moncton so I didn't wanna wear myself too thin.

All in all, my only complaints about the whole trip is
    1. Early tacoma seats SUCK, ow my lower back. (way too much lumbar built in)
    2. Cruise control is a god-send and gee do i wish i had it.
    3. I need to add a subwoofer to the tacoma.

And as far as the JBA arms go, they did fine the entire drive, once on the highway they helped the tacoma ride smooth as butter, even with 10 ply tires and a spacer/shackle lift. Felt very steady in cross-winds, and over-all just feels much less top-heavy than before with the old arms. I also didn't change the grade 5 hardware for the ball-joints, due to it being too freaking cold. Nothing broke on the entire drive, so I guess they'll be staying in the tacoma as I build it up more towards expedition status.

WOW...Thanks for all the info. I am totally into the military and maritime, I was in the Coast Guard for 8 years, (electricians Mate). I did check out the link you sent me previously and it has a TON of info. They have a wine and brew tour with lunch that my wife and I will be doing for sure. Really appreciate all the info. I'm going to have my wife look it over tonight and we will start writing things down and planning the trip from here on in. Thanks Again...CHEERS...:proposetoast:

It was just me and @D2. so we talked tube benders and sliders.

I'm going into Bowater tomorrow for a campfire by a lake. Meet in the parking lot beside the McDonald's at 103 Exit 5 at 1230 if you are interested.

I worked with a company that got hired to do some work on Oak island for the show. I have been down and around the 'money pit' and mainly talked with the directors and project manager side of the show.

We were hired to install the aqua-barrier on the islands coastline so they could do some digging and try to block the flood tunnels. I was up there with my boss doing the prep, and then come time for the install the barrier broke! These barriers were designed to hold back a lot more water than what it was, but the curse of oak island must be true haha. This mishap even ended up making it onto the show.

The island itself is owned by 4-5 people. One of the owners owns the land where the money pit is at plus a couple other dig sites. It is technically a privately owned island, and normally while the show is filming (not winter months) they have signs up saying you can't drive across the roadway connecting the island to the shore. But once across there is a big gravel spot for parking, a couple buildings, and then a gate stopping you from heading to the money pit. You can see the film crew's HQ & Kitchen mobile.

I technically signed papers about what I saw past that point and whatnot hahah but it's a neat little spot with some very interesting history tied to it!

    Same here,
I can never seem to miss the traffic in MTL, for me, I always end up there at about 3:30pm :frusty:

man its been too long since I had a proper road trip!
nothing like an open bag of beef jerky on the dash, radio crankin, and the open road ahead

this year I'm going to try and take my 4yr old and 1.5yr old to Montreal to see the Bio-Dome, the oldest one loves aquatic life. I think he'd get a real kick out of it.

Speaking of GPS's, there's some sort of week number roll over.. Apparently some will stop working correctly or some shit. They need to be updated!

I am headed to Ottawa in a bit more then a week to fetch one of the kids who is going to University of Ottawa. Gonna stay a few days. Hope to get to see some of the museums. Not looking forward to the drive in the Corolla.
Spent a week there in 2015 while the kids went to nationals for paddling. I agree its a great city, and I am looking forward to spending more time there. Weather will suck I bet, being April still.

I had to google this after you posted it, its interesting the odd problems they run into due to the limitations of software / old programming. This one was due to the fact that they measure time in weeks, so some old GPS' could only count 1024 weeks, so once week 1025 happens, the date "rolls over" or resets.

at least that's my understanding of it!
