I already did the passenger side. A bit of a hack job, but 1000 times better than the scraps of the OEM ones. It would be good to re-do!

It's been super busy for me, the house Reno's are in full swing!
Finished the roof a couple weeks back, and in the process of doing some interior work. I just finished building my master room walk-in closet, and some temporary walls. I am removing a load bearing wall and replacing with a recessed beam in the ceiling, which will add some ft2 to my master bedroom. After the beams are up, moving on to installing new windows throughout the house.

At the moment I can see from one side of the house through to the other haha, everything is stripped to the studs. In prep for new electrical, new plumbing, new everything!

Edit: Only reason I can do this is because I am single and don't mind living in a construction zone hahah, a GF or wife would not be able to handle this

For any of the guys that came down to the valley for the run a little while back here's a bit of a disturbing/funny story from this past weekend: I was out exploring another trail that I found in that area and decided to come down off the mountain on the first trail I took you guys to: Clairemont Road. This is the trail we went up the mountain on that day. Anyway, on my way down the hill, AFTER the worst of the rocks etc I came across an older couple in an SUV with their grand daughter. Turns out they were renting a cottage on the shore in Morden and they needed some groceries so they entered 'Atlantic Superstore' into their GPS and it told them Clairemont road was the fastest route for them to take to the store. The crazy thing was this guy drove the dam SUV through stuff that makes me bottom out in my Tacoma and he was in a GMC envoy I think it was! Needless to say he destroyed the bottom of his vehicle but we made sure he at least made it to pavement. I had to shake my head at the stuff he drove through, quite insane if you ask me! I never usually believe the stories you hear online about people following their GPS' into crazy situations but now I've seen it with my own two eyes!

On another note I finally found a trail I could not get through with the Tacoma, mud stopped me dead, I'll upload some pics when I get home :)

    Now this sounds interesting!

In all seriousness though, it's a good thing you happened upon those folks. Makes me wonder have it would have worked out otherwise...

Almost forgot to upload the pics... here's the mud I just could NOT get through:

Doesn't look like much but those ruts are a good 15 inches deep or so... and there were no ruts when I pulled up to it, that entire mess was my multiple attempts to make it through... :( Kinda feel bad for ripping it up so bad but not much I could do... I ended up turning around and coming through this trail from the other end, made it through this mud that direction no problem. LOTS of good mud holes on this trail though!

And if we want to redo the run I took you guys on this trail is right in the middle of it all :)

Funny I wouldn't have hesitated to go through that first pic but the second one I'm like no way.

Got my stock muffler courtesy of @k.strong installed, @TacoMitch93 @Hawco636 hit me up if you want the 6 month old Walker I had in there.

I'm hoping you realize it's the exact same hole, just a pic from the other side?

Spring bolt flange to tail pipe although the reason I snagged kstrong's is it's not the correct pipe in front of the muffler so it didn't sit right. Tailpipe is original though, has the heat shield on and all.

Not sure. I bought it at carquest and they said it was factory. It's definitely not factory 6 cyl because it's oval not round but I feel like they would have asked what engine I have. It was a little droney on the Hwy but that could have been because I smashed the pipe with a hammer to clear my crossmember..

The spring bolts on the 4cyl are up on the header, where the v6 is farther back I think, so you might not be able to put the 4 cylinder exhaust on the truck, I haven't thought to compare both of them though

Aha, yeah the spring bolts on the v6 are after the cats, resonators and y pipe. This is the muffler only.

Getting back into the shop feels good!
Did a full R&R on the subie's brakes. Dealer wanted over 1K to replace pads and rotors on all 4 corners. I don't have that kind of $$ right now so I told my wife to "bring it home" against Subaru's recommendation that it was unsafe to drive.

I agree it would be unsafe for long term driving, but there was enough pad left for her to get home

RockAuto to the rescue on this one, New stuff all the way round, Its a bit ( not much ) of an upgrade from factory so we'll see how this lasts. I cracked the bleeders when pushing in the cylinders on the calipers so old fluid was pushed out, and not back into the system. Did a bleed on all 4 corners as well. its all good now. the break-in procedure described on the pad box was goofy, it wanted us to go 50km/h then brake to 5km/h 30 times.
I did it, but must have looked like a total A-Hole to all my neighbors as I repeatedly drove around.

A while back I dickered my metal chop saw and broke the fence in two. Last few nights I with @Canoehead's help I've been able to make some progress replacing the fence with angle iron. I had to make some oval holes for the fence adjustment, and decided on drilling two holes as close as possible, then using a chain saw file ( the round one ) to remove the metal between them. This became tedious fast, so I ended up chucking the file into the drill press and using it like a mill to clean things up . I know its meant for vertical pressure, but I doubt I did much harm to my MasterCraft $100 press.

Only thing now is to re-enforce the back side of the fence with some tube. I should have pictures tonight of the finished product.
After that its back to the bender. I have what I need to either make this work, or give up on it completely and hand over my :spending:to affordablebender.com and just get-r-done. I think @Canoehead has given me enough hints that he wants to go "full send" on his truck once he gets sliders

anyone want some Garage Time with the Old D2 just let me know, Shop hours are from approx 9pm - 12am most evenings and anytime I can get it on the weekends. :drunk:

One of these days I need to get going on installing my lights I bought back in January... I'm still worried about drilling holes in my baby though :( lol, I got the bumper light bar on and my mom is just about done making covers for my ditch lights then they'll be ready to install... it's the 52" bar for the top of my windshield that has me hesitating as drilling holes for the brackets just inside my doors in scary as hell for me. I'll get er done sometime though!

Anyone feel like doing a run sometime soon? I need some more mud and rocks in my life :) lol
