I'm not sure, but I may have set a world record for having bought a car, ripping the engine out and selling it again in roughly 48 hours.

I don't even know if the engine that came out of it will actually run!

Need to install a winch and a front bumper for it before a big trip. Any recommendation for a local shop?

    Where are you at?

...and you have any pics of the bumper? We all want to see pics!

I installed my ARB bumper in my driveway in an afternoon in the winter. Don't know if DIY is an option for you.

I meant a local shop to buy it or everything is online (not local, new in Halifax).

Well then, first off welcome to Halifax! I am not aware of any place that stocks a winch bumper for our trucks, but I could be wrong. I ordered mine from 4wheel parts, it came in less than 3 weeks. I think that's probably about the best lead time to expect.

Is your big trip a wheeling / overlanding deal?

All the way to the US southwest. Planned to do it this year but ended along the east coast. Not rock crawling, just a way to get to more remote areas. A wince would have saved me few hours this summer

does your MT bolt up to the V8? or will you have to use the SC tranny?

You need a bell housing adapter if you want to use a manual behind a UZ motor of any sort. None of them ever came with a manual. Unfortunate and the biggest expense for me if I want to swap my truck with the 2UZ Tundra motor.

Scott is correct, I plan to mate my R154 to the UZ, but I'll need an adapter!

Slowly but surely... stripping it and cleaning it up. I don't plan to open up the engine, unless theres problems after the install.

These old UZs have convenient cup holders.

Luckly the R transmissions have a removable bellhousing. You might be able to get away with using the auto bellhousing and just adapting (cutting a hole into the side) it for use with the manual. That is my plan if I ever find a late model 2UZ for the right price. 325Hp lazy smooth V8 in a Tacoma is my goal.

First kiss. Door still opens and closes okay. Great fun on my first run of Wild Card with Backcountry 4x4. I guess something happened and it turned out more technical than it was last year.

Got to break in the winch later that day, first to extract an epic old Ford extended cab pickup with a ton off mods, and later to pull my self out of tight spot in a rock garden.

    These trucks are so awesome!

Endless thanks to co-pilot @D2. for every kind of help. Backcountry 4x4 is a great club!

I have access to a slide hammer if you want to drill holes to hammer that out. I did it on the door of my truck when I put it into a rock!
