I made out alright. Lost power for 26hrs, but my little 1700W Firman Generator kept the fridges cold and even let me watch a little netflix on the TV.

No trees down, but the neighbor had some old trees fall in there's. Luckly none hit anything at all! Shes a very recent widow, and her late husband gave me his chiainsaw to fix seeing as i'm not too shabby with small engines, only to turn around and give it to me when I fixed it ( cleaned carb and replaced fuel lines, super easy and cheap ) so I thought it was only fitting I cut up the downed trees with "his" saw.

on that note, I have two saws. a
    1) 16" 39cc ( I think ) McCulloch that's from the early 90's ( I have the original receipt from Cdn Tire )

    2) 18" 50cc Re-man Ryobi from Princess auto for less then $150. I've had it approx 7 years.

both saws are great, no mechanical issues with either one. My only comment is that the McCulloch occasionally seems to bog slightly when getting pinched, but really, with a sharp chain, it rips through stuff just fine, its lighter so I can do more before getting fatigued, and its the one I take on Taco trips if I think we'll encounter trees.

here is a link to the Generator.
    it has two 120V outlets
    one 12V outlet
    one USB port.

I believe you can also connect two together to increase available power.

I thought I would never buy a saw that wasn't once of the big names but my neighbour's brother offered me a Poulan* for $80 and I figured at that price I couldn't go wrong. It hasn't let me down yet - like D2 said it bogs a little if it gets pinched or if I'm tackling biggish hardwood but you just have to respect its limitations and remember what you paid for it. I do think it probably uses more oil (both bar and 2 stroke mix) than a more expensive saw would.
    Edit: it's a "super clean 2150" - 35cc, 16" bar. I think Canadian Tire sell it as a homelite

I don't remember the exact model but I bought my old man a Johnsered a bunch of years ago and it still works fine... even spent a winter encased in ice and it still runs good.

On another note I still don't have power but no damage whatsoever at my house... I was so bored I went out yesterday and cut down a bunch of the Sumac trees I've been wanting to cut down for a while now just to feel like I had to clean up something... lol

I have an older Craftsman chainsaw I on the side of the road..

I put new fuel line on it, and cleaned the carb out and it works awesome. Still need to do some fine tuning, it doesn't like to idle once its warm, butttt it works well enough for me!

    It's a 42cc 18 inch bar.

Dad has a Stihl Farm boss. I think its something like 56 cc??? I could be wrong, but the saw is incredibly heavy.

I have a Johnson saw I don’t know the exact specs but I like it
My father had it for years and it still starts 1st pull

Boggs a little bit at certain angles I think it’s just when I’m getting low on fuel tho

I think your right, The carb's on saws ( and weed wackers ect.. ) are siphon feed, that's how they can go almost upside down, unlike cars, lawnmowers and other things with bowels to hold the fuel. so if the fuel line in the tank ( which usually has a "heavy" filter attached to it gets stuck at a funny angle, or can't reach what little gas is left, it starves / stalls out. ) and interestingly enough, what you'r doing with the primer bulb is getting any air out of the line so the siphon get start working. so if you think that pumping that little bulb an extra 10x is making a difference. its not. once the air is out, its out. all your doing after that is cycling fuel back into the fuel tank ( chain saws have two lines into the tank, one of sucking, one for primer bulb return.

and that folks is your TMI for the day.....:hattip:

Totally not TMI, I always worry about pumping the bulb too much and flooding it so that is good to know. TIL.

Just cut a stump pretty well the full depth of my bar at my buddy's house (I didn't cut the tree down) and my little Poulan rocked it :)

Failed safety at my regular shop for the tailpipe not extending "outside the bodywork". Tried to argue that only applies to the passenger cab but no dice so rather than pay $30 for a new inspection somewhere else I spent $20 on a vee clamp and hacked my old tailpipe onto the one I got from @k.strong (thanks again for that :D @TacoMitch93 @Hawco636 my Walker is still up for grabs if you want it - now with a little less tailpipe lol)
Not the tidiest welds but among my best if I'm being honest ;)

I never had an issue with that. My new one is even shorter and still passed.

Yeah, I get the impression the shop I use is a
"factory spec" kind of place. Great guys, just not into modifying things lol

Having said that, I straight up told them I would put the pipe on for inspection and take it off again as soon as I got home and they were just like "meh, up to you"

Need a hookup for some good priced tires. Anyone able? I'll offer a disgustingly low price on a heat pump if you ever want one

I have a set of 265/75R16 on factory steel rims I'll be selling, but not until I get a new set of 285 winters mounted up. Not sure that you are looking for rubber on rims, or if you can wait.

My buddy has a tire shop in spryfield. I know your over the eastern shore, but just give a call and see what price they got. Great install and balance prices too, even if you don't get tires there.
