I installed one in mine as it was sloppy as all get out. Work's pretty good and for the 3 hours and 25 bucks it cost to replace I would say worth it. Been going strong for 2 years now.

That ziptie mod doesn't sit right with me even a little. I would rather replace the rag joint with something either solid, or a little more skookum than run a ziptie threw it. Mine is also gone, I just haven't gotten around to doing anything about it.

Beadlocks are not legal to run on provincial roads in NS. I doubt you would get pulled over if you were running expensive DOT rated ones, but if you're running home brew beads and you do get pulled over it will definitely result in a fine.

    Hey guys and gals,
I’m not considering it right now but have been digging into some research on lifting Tacoma’s and throwing on a set of 33s or 35s. I don’t really think it’s nessisary right now for me, haven’t even gone out with anyone yet, but I wanted to know what may be some NS restrictions to lifting and bigger tires when getting a truck approved for road worthy after lifting.

With larger tires may come some serious body and some slight frame modifications to prevent rubbing.(?) Not to mention the load of aftermarket parts you need to throw on.

just want to know if I’m limited in what I can do so I can put my research efforts there rather then into something that will ultimately make my truck not road worthy, as it is and probably will be for a while my daily driver. Any insight helps!

    cheers, stay safe!

You won't have any trouble with the regulations, but some insurers will object.

33s will require about 2 or 3 inches lift, rim back spacing has to be exact, you will also need after market upper control arms to get full suspension movement and correct wheel alignment. Might have to cut some plastic and the front mudflats have to go. I am running 33s

35s require all that, plus cutting the fenders and cab mounts to clear the tires.

I drive support for the Stage Rallies, I got into it through Backcountry 4x4. It's a lot of fun. We'll have to get you in once you are re-Taco'd!

Oh not too bad. The real struggle is trying to fight the urge to go fishing. Shame the season was postponed. On the upside installed bilstein 5100's all round and an AAL in the rear recently.

Postponing the fishing season really got under a lot of peoples skin, it's been a pretty heated topic at work lately!

I heard about this from my Neighbor,
He's a pretty chill dude, but I could tell he was miffed by it as well. You figure being alone in a boat in the middle of a lake would be ok?

I'm half joking, but you can bet some folks would just pile up around the shore line and ruin it for everyone.

Today looks like the day my sliders get coated :) Weatherman says it will get up to 16 degrees! I figured there's a little wiggle room built into the instructions for idiot's like me trying to get it done at the bare minimum temperature recommendation, LOL.

now to just spare some time away from work. Working from home is great and all ( not really with kids ), but I'm putting in way more then 8hrs a day lately. Its all on me. I guess I feel that I need to be super productive being at home to prove myself I guess.

alright. Enough about me. What's everyone else been up to? I'm expecting major projects to come out of this!!

PS: Looks like Kent will deliver supplies as long as you order over $50!!!
This just opened up my possibilities!!

I finally got around to cleaning up my control arm cam bushings. Replaced with poly bushings and replaced the seized ones with OEM stuff. Did the engine mounts while I was in there. Just need to order a trans mount and some CV hub seals and she's ready for whenever the apocalypse ends.

Having just gone threw with that job, good luck. I only had 2 that were seized, and one that needed to be cut out. A good rip saw blade helps with removal.

Thanks for the heads up. Had to cut all the bushings out of the Supra sub frame as well!

I've got new LCA's for it too! Just have to move the Supra in the garage to make some room to pull the truck in.

Wrong province dude, try @Jon G

Edit, should have looked at a map first myself - it's damn near as far from St John's as we are!
