I’ve always swapped with the prestone stuff that can be mixed with all. Easy to find in concentrate too, I hate paying for pre-mix since you are buying 50% water. Never had any issues.

    Well, since you asked :)

We had a great night at a beautiful campsite, easy to get to.
    20210319_184427.jpg
This afternoon we decided to take a little run down a side track. It's a little tight and there is some washout on it, plus super slippery snow. My buddy parked his Jeep and rode shotgun with me, I ditched the trailer, and off we went. Uneventful trip down to the lake, but I knew I'd have trouble getting back up the hill. I was right, but hey, that's why I have a winch! So it took about three cable lengths of winching to get up off the steep washout part, and then smooth sailing. After we got the trailer hooked in and headed onto the main road, I notice my brake warning light is on. Seems I lost a lot of brake fluid. Maybe I should have been more careful not to drive over the winch line at the top of that hill... oh look I broke the hard line to the caliper! As it happens I have TWO spare hard lines under my seat and a bottle of fluid. Back on the road in no time with a brand new hard line on and brakes bled.

The snow in the Valley took a beating today! I even washed the truck and her Subaru, my skin is still translucent though, not enough sun

March Break was last week, and I took the week off to be with my oldest Son ( and to not go to work :D )
Managed to squeeze this out during the break.

the bumper is claimed to fit 05 - 15 taco. After much research it's really for a 12 - 15 taco, Once I understood what the issue was ( had horrible gaps and was waaaaaaay off ) it was full steam ahead on the old "make it fit" train

I'm pretty pleased with the result so far.
Definitely been giving the Lincoln MigPack 140 a workout. :welder:

Yeah, it was definitely made for a 12-15, but from when I mounted it, the only difference I could see was the raised angle piece between the lower corners of the headlights, did you just have to make that flat? When i spoke to Satin Pelfrey over the phone about the gaps along the top between the grill and headlights, she said it was supposed to be there to make up for flex/collision. It looks great!

IDK what was up, but the whole thing was "lower" I won't bore you with the pics, but you can see what I ended up doing, I added 2" in height all around. So the light bar cutout got 2" up there, and the "wings" got 2" added below them. Looks way better this way IMO. I could have done something wrong with the initial fit up, but there was zero instructions provided. All I had to go off were a few screen shots of the Sketchup drawing, and the actual 3d model.

I verified that the 3d model's dimensions matched what I had cut at the plasma cutter, but it just wasn't fitting up, the gaps were re-donkulus! ( at lest to me )

adding the 2" in height made the top flat part line up with the body line, and I just tweaked the angles the "wings" were bent in at. gave myself 3/4" clearance around the body and called it good.

she's 95% welded ( left my recovery point locations un-touched ) but I need to do one more test fit before I grind it all pretty and paint it to hide my "apprentice marks"

    I added it up.
I laid 521 inches of weld on this bumper!

Between my Sliders, @Canoehead sliders, his skid plate and this bumper, we used 10lbs of MIG wire! all since Dec 2020!! ( I mark my spools to see how long they last / how may projects I completed )
