since when is 2" square tube ( 1/8" wall ) more expensive than DOM tube?

    @Tertius420 @Fahrenheit

I finally got off my keister and got some metal prices, check your PM's in about an hour or so to see how much some sliders will cost.

Really just plugging things on here to fill up the space at this point. The brake controller will remain (need to extend the harness) but the other bits will move. Have to build a neat box to hold a battery of rocker switches next.

That looks great, man! It is awfully handy having everything within reach. Someday down the road I'll get into throwing some extra stuff inside the cab, the outside stuff kinda took priority for this year :(

I hear that! I've been putting this off for years to focus on armour, winch, suspension, wheels, trailer... then my brake controller fell off and I just had to do something less temporary! It feels great to be at this point, but still so much left to do!

I know the trails you're talking about! How did you fare on the big water hole on the East side trail? I went to the right and bottomed out for a sec but other then that no issues at all. One of the sales guys at Kentville Toyota (Danny) told me where to find that trail so I went up and checked it out last year... did not do the West side trails though as that is private land and the owner had stressed that it was for hiking only... plus it got closed last year because they are selling... unless it's some other trail?

Ok, so, Danny is a friend of mine who was also with me the other day, we pulled up to that hole, Danny said, and I'm going to quote this, "We can do this! But the one with Mud Terrains' must pass first", kid you not, throw Yodas voice into it and that was Danny on Monday. He did say to stay right, but it wasn't that hole that we chickened out on, it was the one right after we were like, "Um, no." WAY too much ice in the second one, and if we got stuck, there's no place to go to pull someone back out, we'll try that one later in the season ;)
I personally liked the west side trail more, it had more of an 'off roading' feel to it more so than the East side, theres a bit of climbing, nice scenery, and that trail is literally meters away from the waterfall on the hiking trail (they dont converge), I think we're headed out to Gasperau on Sunday once I fix my CV and we have to head back out Aylesford road to hit the logging trails now that there's no worry of meeting skidoo club members, find the old cadet camp.

I was supposed to get in touch with Danny to go out sometime but I never did actually message him to go... oops! lol, If you guys are going out this weekend I'd be down to join ya, I plan to do some exploring this weekend, no idea where but I'd like to go! I went out on the fire roads last weekend even though we weren't technically supposed to as they were 80% dirt almost no snow or ice left. Maybe you can send me the location of the west side trails, I'd go check em out, always love a good waterfall too! :) Either way, hit me up if you guys go out sometime, I'm down for road trips any weekend! When I did the East side trail it was the end of August so no ice and it was fine but I wouldn't even tempt that trail if it was icy, I did 9 grand in damage to the truck end of '19 breaking through ice up this way so I'm a bit more timid these days lol. I think Danny showed me pics of you and him out on the trails one time maybe, he showed me some videos of him and a buddy who also had a tacoma...

So CV axle change was super quick/easy, I was worried over a lot of nothing. It came out easy, went it really well, gave a couple firm taps and it slid right in. We did discover that the bearings in my UCAs are shot, which is okay, and so are my sway bar links, which is also okay, because I have JBAs to go on and I plan on getting rid of my sway bar, what I'm not okay with are the spacers my truck has. Some people don't mind them, I am terrified of them, so whenever I find 315s and get my SCSs mounted the better I'll feel.
Anyway, just wanted to throw an update out there, it went WAY faster than I thought, and super huge thanks to the guys that helped me, made it so much easier. I can see something like that being very able to fix on the trail.

I know it's minor, but I'd like to finally get the cracked front bumper and bent rear bumper fixed. Any recommendations on where to get it done around Halifax?

Heh, your rear bumper looks like mine after my run last Monday when I got stuck, adds character, and AT LEAST 5hp

    Lookin real sharp!!
any chance you can get me some measurements off your buddy's front hoop?
I mean, if i'm gonna copy a PelfreyBilt bumper, might as well go all the way right?

it would be interesting to see our trucks side by side once I'm one and painted. I'd love to know if the 2" gap I had was my fault or not.

    front bumper? no.
do all 2012+ have that little support bracket from the lower tie down point to the bumper?

are you thinking of buying a new front bumper skin and having it painted? if it was me Id do the old zip tie X stich method, or I'd just fiberglass the inside of the cracks, and do a little bodyfill and rattle can paint. <--- Neither of which I have any any experience with. I've never really touched body work.

back bumper, may be able to bend it back in place. Have you looked underneath to see what's tweaked?
