So are you no longer running the fog lights and just want to hook up to the existing wiring? Shouldn't be an issue so long as the light bar doesn't draw more than the fogs did - first thing to do would be to make sure the wire is at least as thick as what came with the light bar, can't think off the top of my head if fogs have their own fuse but obviously check that too.
If you are still using the fog lights and just want the light bar to come on with them, do the relay thing like D2 said.

Yeah I wasn’t running fogs anymore
But I don’t think I’m gonna do that anymore

I just bought a 2018 OR I may put the bar in it instead

Its the cleanest car I looked at! The passenger side has some rust, the rocker was dented and pushed up into the door, couple holes and a slide hammer will take care of that though!!

I have about 750km on this tank so far, I'm blown away.

I also was headed to the valley yesterday, it hauled ass up the big hill (exit 8 I think) in 5th, held speed the entire way up. I was amazed.

    that's pretty cool.
never drove a diesel, so is it true you keep the RPM's a bit lower? or do you just "drive it like normal" per say.....

The gearing is setup in most diesels so that you're shifting and keeping the engine in the happy zone most of the time. Some of the European stuff I've driven has a 5k redline. It's like the 1GR redline though. After 4k it is just making noise.

The jetta redlines at 4500, I generally drive around town (on flat) between 1500 and 2000, compared to my truck where I run between 2000 and 2500.

    The thing haaaaulsssss

Mine's rusted in two, and I wanted to see the price of a replacement before trying to fab one up

No idea of the part number or where to find it but it's the bracket for the 4x4 actuator wiring connector. I just replaced it with a piece of straight stainless and a zip tie :p
