I had a huge vacuum leak and a muddy ass filter and when I fixed them it made a massive difference. It's crazy what a clean filter can do

I have to learn about vacuum leaks. I see a lot of old looking hoses under the hood.

Basically the engine is getting more air than it think so it runs lean and gutless!

Yes, I need to educate myself on how all those hoses and wires work. My starting point is owner maintenance on chainsaws and similar engines. I suppose I could just replace everything rubber that connects to the engine.

You can run an unlit propane torch over the vaccum lines and the engine will Rev up a little when you find the leak with it. I've heard carb cleaner works as well.

Acetylene works too! And WD-40! The issue with WD is since its a liquid you might move on to another spot by the time it enters the combustion chamber.

What's the best way to buy Eibach coils around here. Do I have to order from the Toytec site?

Edited to add: By the way, the advice and help here is awesome. I really appreciate the help I'm getting as I am introduced to this new vehicle! I can't wait to meet some of you in person

I ordered a toolbox for my bed from them, that went fine for me. They phoned me and emailed me to confirm fitment because it was a "special order item - no returns", but I am not sure how much of a confirmation that really was. I suppose it can't be hard to fit a utility chest into a truck bed.

Having heard of Kirk's experience I've been reading up and it seems that most of the 4x4 parts companies are expecting the buyer to have an extremely detailed knowledge of the parts... really much more than anyone could reasonably expect.

Is there a company selling to the Canadian market with a really good reputation?

Also, for me, it seems that TDotPerformance does not carry the Eibach springs. I am begining to think they are Toytec only.

And now... a broken leaf! The guy I bought this truck from must have had a crystal ball.

Oh well, I wanted to upgrade the leafs too. Now I am looking hard for a spring pack instead of casually for an AAL.

I broke rear leafs on each side last summer in my previous Tacoma and spent a small fortune on OEM replacements because I had to take the truck working up North two days after I discovered the issue. That suuuuucked.

    Ouch!

I just wrapped the broken leaf with tubular webbing for now. I not interested in OEM replacement, but I am sure I couldn't get one if I wanted to these days with all the warranty replacements going on!

I am thinking of going to a local spring shop instead of mail ordering. Wish I had more time research the options.

That would be awesome Andrew, thanks!

I want only a small lift but I am worried I may be locking myself in now with new shocks and now new springs... too much money in to change it if it turns out it's not high enough. I am thinking the Dakar pack is more than I need or I would just go that route right now.... but I'd have to get new shocks also and be stuck with rear 5100s in a box that aren't long enough. I want the smallest lift to run 255/75r17 and want some rake so I can load up when I'm going camping. Should I just bite the bullet?
