So I'm not really looking for a lift just a softer ride with my sport when I'm on trails. I just want to keep whatever I'm doing simple and not spend an arm and a leg. I've thought about just being patient and swapping my shocks for stock OR ones when I find em. Is this one of those things it's all or nothing and I need to fully commit or just back away fully?

Not sure about third gens, but on second gens, the OR swaybar was softer than the Sport sway. People that wheel a lot usually take them off anway. See if you can find one. I threw mine away. Might be a cheap/free way to gain more articulation and a smoother ride off road. Or just take it off before wheeling and see if it makes any noticeable difference.
