Maybe 1.25" or so. My hope with this pack is I can get a slight rake back with the proper amount of PSI in my air bags and improve the ride since I'm running more air in the bags than required, just for the increased height.

Just checking if these are made in the USA. Thanks.

So I’m posting here directly because of a lack of response/customer service and I dislike having to come to the forum to ask better of its vendors.

•originally emailed 1/28 about a fitting issue with provided ubolts and sumo springs (knowing full well I wasn’t going to get help regarding the sumos) but my question was more in regards to the ubolts specifically and dimensions.
•hs responded 1/28 with as expected no help regarding the sumos but also no help regarding the ubolts and dimensions. Only replied with the ubolt manufacturer.
•I emailed 1/29 with pictures of the ubolts and paired with the sumos for reference and the dimensions (inner diameter) of the ubolts. Also noted I’ll have more pics and info once I tried the install.
    •no reply
•did the install that weekend and emailed 2/3. During install I was able to compare provided ubolts to stock ubolts and between factory bumps to sumos with pictures and further clarity on the issue.
    •crickets

so during my research the ubolts are to sit flat and that is not the case with the hs provided ubolts, with the sumos or with the factory bumps. They touch/make contact on the edges only, because the bend radius differs from the factory ubolts which actually makes the inner diameter smaller than the stock bolts raising it off the leaf/bump stop bracket. So I was lucky to be able to reuse the stock ubolts with the hs aal and factory bumps.

Below 2 photos show the gap and only making contact on the edges with factory bumps (1/8”-1/4” gap)

    compared to stock

Stock inner diameter (also note the bottom is flattened bend to bend)

Ome (provided) bolt inner diameter but more specifically bend to bend. Remember it only makes contact on the curved radius part.

what I’m looking for is a response and a solution regarding the ubolts.

Positive- Regarding the 3leaf aal, I have always had some sort of random vibration at random speeds and after the install I actually don’t notice any vibrations anymore (not sure what could explain this?). I’m all stock with a cap that has caused me to sag in the rear and lose my factory rake hence installing the aal.

    thanks for any help

    edit/added:
1-what torque spec for the center pin provided? I couldn’t find any torque spec from Toyota and came to tw for help- someone mentioned 33ft lbs but the spec sheet was obviously from a different vehicle with differing specs on other components (I still went 33).

2- there is a metal plate on top of the overload spring but no mention if this metal plate is to be put on the aal or taken off with the overload spring. I left the metal plate on the removed overload spring but if it needed to be transferred to the aal I’d like to know and install it.

Did you ever get this sorted out? I just installed a U bolt flip kit so I have no use for my HS bolts anymore ~1k miles on the HS bolts

I have been contacted but nothing currently sorted. On your ubolt flip did you swap out bumps? If so, care to dry fit the bolts over the stock bumps and check if it rests flat or has a gap?

Edit: another user reported back that they didn’t have any gaps on their recent install.

Sorry for the late reply. Here’s a pix I took, albeit shitty iPhone 7 quality, of my stock bump stop with HS bolts and there’s no gap... lmk if you want the bolts

Unfortunately looking at around 2-3 months. Manufacturing back log similar to last batch.

Looking to run this with the overload spring, or is that gonna be a completely big no no.

I’ve heard mixed reviews of others leaving it on. I wheel every so often haven’t really maxed anything out yet. But I’m looking for that 2in of lift in the rear as I’ll be 3 inches in the front. And I worry with only 1.5in in the rear I’ll be at a slight nose high stance.

    any advice on this? Mahalo

Do not run it with the overload leaf, as you'll run a risk of cracking your leaf pack when the suspension flexes. The AAL leafs are shorter in length than the overload spring is, so it creates a gap between the overload leaf and the leaf it'll ultimately make contact with. This creates more of a harsh "stabbing" effect when the overload makes contact with the rest of the leaf pack under flex or extreme loads, instead of the smoother sliding effect it would normally have.

If you want that extra height, purchase the added spacer that Headstrong offers. It is the same thickness as the overload leaf, but it's just long enough to fit within the u-bolts at the bottom of the leaf pack. It's basically a very small lift block, which is what you would be using the overload leaf for anyway. See the photo I posted here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ned-hs-3-leaf-aal.658544/page-8#post-24778334

Mahalo for the quick reply! By any chance do you have a link to that spacer? I can’t seem to find it on their website

Currently running a 1” block in the rear. Will this aal setup run cause the rear to feel stiffer or not flex as much?
