Has anyone had any issues with the 2016 door sill protectors? I tried to order a set from the dealer and they told me there was a stop sale on them in Canada, which usually happens due to a fitment or wear issue with accessories. I was using part number

No issues here after nearly a year of use. If the dealer won't sell them to you there are other sources such as eBay where you might be able to purchase them.

 

I got mine on Amazon. Installed them myself a few months ago. No issues.

 

Yea the stop sale was a bit surprising to me. Maybe I'll see if I can get a decent price on the web somewhere, then I can order a set of these decals for them. The only problem is it will end up costing me $100 or more probably.

PT747 35161". There are many to choose from for about CAD$50. Be sure you the get the 2016 model with the updated lettering. The letters on the previous model DSPs are not the same.

 

Different question, I am thinking of getting your door sill inlays and your glove box inlays but you have the door sill in magnetic gray metallic but not the glove box lettering?

 

The MGM vinyl is simply too dark against the black plastic on the glove box. Other than having a glossy finish they are barely visible when installed.

On the door sill protectors the letters are larger and there is more light so they provide a more visible, subtle accent.

Guess it pays to read the whole thread before ordering. Wasted my money on the quicksand door seal letters, but the glovebox letters worked fine.

 

Put 'em in a long envelope, throw a 40 cent stamp on it, and I'll refund the purchase price when I get them back. Or get the door sill protectors. I think they are about $40 on eBay.

 

Got mine from the dealership through a friend who is a used car dealer and gets a discount. Followed the installation instructions carefully and after 8 months have had no problems. The used car dealer usually gets his at Costco and cuts them to fit whatever vehicle needs them...however no emblem to match the vehicle like the ones on the OEM Toyota ones.

I can confirm that the 2016 sill protectors fit fine on 2nd gens. I think the vinyl is a much better setup than the hard plastic ones designed for the 2nd gens. The factory sill plates had already worn through the paint on every door sill after a year of use, even the rear driver side where nobody ever sits.

 

I am now offering these in Cement Grey (actually medium grey, but color-matched via the OEM touch up paint).

Came out awesome on my inferno! Used the wet method and they pretty much fall into place.

 

Got my door sill decals... color isn't prefect but still love it

 

Looks good! That is the closest match to Quicksand that I can find. It helps having it against the black of the door sill protectors.
