    Maybe the common 4th gen owner will have reached enlightenment and not ask a bunch of dumbass questions on here?

    We can’t be too critical on Gen4 b/c there’s a ton that we still don’t know about it. Time will tell if that new focus-group “rugged” styling w bazooka tailpipe will hold up over the length of its generation, like Taco Gens 1-3 did (and still do). Pretty tall order to follow any of those trucks.

    I predict that from where we’re now sitting, the year 2024 will be the best year ever to be a Gen3 owner. We already have great trucks. No dealer shenanigans, no first-year beta testing, no fake enthusiasm required. Just grab your popcorn b/c this will be very entertaining.

    And I call the trail hunter edition the TW edition. I think someone in corporate Toyota finally did some research on here.

    Turbo'ed 4 banger... :anonymous::bananadead::rofl::rofl:

    It seems like Toyota is ripping a page out of Ford's book and shooting for fun over longevity. Which is the opposite of the mantra which they preached for so long.

    I'm in for the impending posts asking why their new junk is throwing excessive check engine codes, and their engine has blown.

    Because Jeeps are well known and documented garbage machines with a low threshold for their capability of keeping all 4 wheels on the floor.

    :thumbsup::rofl: Ford... :rofl:

    You're asking too much of the incoming new gen owners.

    You actually think that Toyota is going to address the deficiencies of their model in between the model year releases of their generation? Lol.

    They have proven that they are the kind of company that doesn't listen and doesn't care about their consumer base because they think that they can ride the coattails of their previous successes while touting they are the "most reliable, solidly built" all the while charging premier prices for a non premier product.

    They won't work out the kinks, and while they are at it, they'll find a way to induce newer kinks into the newer models on top of the previous kinks because they want to sub contract their parts builds to an even lower bidder.

    :rofl::rofl:

    I predict there will be a "blown engine" sticky in the 4th gen forum.

    Anything boosted has to have the factory safety limits exceeded, especially by "enthusiasts".

    Ahh.. I guess that makes the 5th gen 4Runner superior to the 3rd gen Tacos. I knew this already, but it's good to have confirmation.

    To be honest it seems Toyota addressed a lot of the things people gripe about on here with the 4th gen and made options and trims for many of the mods people do in the aftermarket. I personally wouldn’t buy the Trail Hunter as I’d rather piece together mods to my own particular style, needs and price point but if you want higher off-road capabilities right off the showroom floor under warranty it seems like a good option. I feel as though a bunch of rich old dudes in cities who never off road are gonna end up being their customer base with the trail hunter though. Also the bed bar is hideous.

    Also, I hope an off road extra cab manual is an option. That might be the only way I’d trade.

    I never bash people who buy GM products. They have enough problems without me piling on.

    And guys who don't need a pickup truck. And, anyone who wants grown-ups to be able to sit in the back seat.

    The 4Runner is getting the turbo 4 soon, as well. But, it will remain superior to the Tacoma for other reasons. ;)
