Background: This 2009 base model had no cruise. With help here, I ran the wires from the computer to the wheel hub connection, added the Control “stalk”, and it has worked fine for 3 years. (Never did finish with enable the green dash ON light, but CC worked fine)
Current: Continued to get the recall notices on spiral cable, and ignored them. Expected my modification would upset them somehow. Recently, RED ballon warning light was on continuous, so had to go to the dealer and comply with the recall. I was concerned they would do something about my added wires, but relieved it appears they left it alone, or did not notice.
The problem is the cruise does not work any more. Checking continuity at the 2 hub base connector pins, I do not see continuity with CC button pushed. (As though CC on command)
Is it likely the spiral cable replacement was specific P/N to a NON-Cruise Taco? I would not think very likely, and the original Base Model cable had been working. Am I correct that the stalk button push should give a momentary contact? I suspect the stalk to the spiral cable connect has been messed up. Anyone here have CC experience ?

To dig deeper searching for the open circuit, how does the Horn pad come off? Don’t want to break anything if possible. I see Evo Chico Horn thread shows it disassembled......
