Sell your 3rd gen while the values are still extremely bloated, -$10,000 coming next 2-3 years

yea. Personally I am devastated about this. It won’t be fun in 10 years when I get a 4th gen(or maybe not get one) to push the seat forward like we were doing back in the 90’s…

The people over at Orkin don't need any rear doors.

    Suspension seats?

    Overland build with factory sliders?

Prices will be high and that will bring our third gens up, not down.

That's my random thought on the matter that has zero basis in anything

The 4th gen looks different enough that the 3rd gen values will be just fine. A lot of folks will be turned off by some of the 4th gen styling like the weird air dam. Not sure what they were smoking with that. It looks like it eats road kill. The 2nd gen will be fine too because it’s old and sexy in all the right ways — like in the movie American Pie how the kids liked Stifler’s mom.

Yea, I’m probably going to buy a left over 2023 trdor access cab and put it onto cold storage… if this is the end, I’ll be devastated.

Frontier & Titan King Cab and F-series Super Cab are going to be the only option for rear facing opening doors on extended cab models.

aren’t frontiers 5’ bed only? That eliminates that option for me and then the other trucks won’t fit in the parking spaces at the grocery store

My 2007 FJCruiser interior design is awesome in its simplicity…not sure about your reference.

There may not be a ton more torque, but have you seen a turbo 4 cyl torque curve? Everyone complains of no low end torque with the 3.5. I can’t wait to see dyno results of the new engine.

3rd gen is to my understanding proven reliable. I don't think the lack of torque will kill values. It'll remain desirable for the same reasons as now: it's a good looking, good sized truck, that tends to not break.

I bought mine because I liked the simplicity. If it came with +5mpg that might be significant

The 3rd gen Tacoma had 8 production years totaling roughly 1.5 million trucks. The 4th gen has 0 produced yet. The demand for trucks will exceed the supply. Also consider that the 1st year of production is often the one with the most problems. Resale of the 3rd gen won't be an issue until about 2026.

Just got an email from Toyota with pictures of the new ‘23 Tacoma. I’m going to be even more upset if my beloved ‘17 ever gets stolen or totaled. I don’t think I will really be looking for a Tacoma in my future anymore if I ever do have to replace it…
