Dudes will go nuts buying them up. Then shortly after the whining will commence. Then the mods/destroying of said trucks. Then the part outs. I cant wait for it to begin.

Access cabs MT's will hold value best with the move to Xtra-cab. Four door automatics will take the biggest hit.

Debatable. A very small portion of people will complain about the lack of access cab. The rest will just buy what Toyota offers and not care.

So fewer doors are better? I think pickup/SUV/car trends have proven that incorrect for at least the last two decades.
    Xtra-cab is a cost-cutting measure, I'd settle for 3 like Chevy used.

Value goes up value goes down?
No one knows so it’s all speculation.
I’ll throw this out there though, the manual transmission crowd have fewer and fewer options each year as there are only two manual trans trucks available (Jeep and Tacoma).
There is a small group that will always buy a manual transmission truck and that may keep the resale of those vehicles a little higher .

    It's strange that Toyota sees loading people as the only use case that applies to a suicide door on the AC;

clearly tool bags, duffles, backpacks and groceries don't qualify as a use case that requires a clear path and full access.

at the same time, they increased storage with locking cubbies, making it more versatile, but made it harder to get to?

I know trade-offs have to be made and there are times when supporting the cool thing isn't feasible...

The present 2.4 turbos are noisey above 3000 rpm. The lose of 2 cylinders doesn't yield much better mpg. I think the 3.5 might beat the 2.4 to 60 mph.

Strike one: first year four banger turbo.
Strike two: you must have a screw loose to buy a new vehicle at todays interest rates.
Strike three: the new pro looks ok i guess but im not into the hard lines and cheap looking console handle.

Conclusion: my pro will continue to hold its value

When the C7 Corvette came out, everyone was saying the C6 prices would tank. They did not. I sold my 6 year old C6 Vette for almost what I paid for it.

The introduction of the 4th gen has absolutely no effect on me whatsoever. I’m perfectly happy with my 23.

Comparing a speciality sports car to a mass produced truck… doesn’t seem logical

A Corvette is hardly a specialty sports car. But I get where you’re going with it. And I do kinda understand what you’re trying to say and your point. I agree.

Those of us who swap trucks for something as little as electric seats will surely move to the 4th gen. Those who drive a paid off 1st/2nd/3rd and have put time/money into the current rig and don't chase the 'new shiny', not as much.
It is entertaining to watch certain members troll the masses though.

Agreed. I bought my 16 new when they first came out and I had my share of issues. An opportunity came up 3 weeks ago on a brand new Pro, so I took the chance and upgraded. My 23 seems so much better than my 16. Maybe when the 5th gens are coming out I'll look at a 4th gen Pro. The new ones do look great and I like them, just curious like everyone else how they will turn out. In the end, I think 3rds will hold value.

A Lambo is a specialty sports car. Maybe it is a bit of stretch to compare the impact of a new Vette version to the 24 Taco rollout. But those saying that used 3rd Gen prices will tank are most likely wrong. The demand for quality used trucks does not go away just because Toyota rolled out a newer version.

There will be some price swings for awhile but this is no different than any "change" year for any vehicle. Prices for each gen will follow the industry swings just like they always do for every make!! I'm glad I own a 3rd gen OR. :)

I kinda feel like the ‘24 is going after a different demographic than the previous generations. The person who wants a V6 that can be wrenched and the person who wants a Hybrid that is going to look cool as shit on IG are different people, imo.

Prices will drop but I don't think it will plummet. I have a 2019 OR and I'm quite happy with it. Not going to lie though, the 4th gen looks pretty good imo. Going to "wait and see". See signature below.
