I'll stick with my '23 and at about 5K miles a year this thing will last the rest of my life.

It's a more complex engine, especially compared to a naturally aspirated V6 that is generally very reliable.

dunno why the hate on toyotas 4cyl turbo. now if it was a GM engine i would say stay away. even though their sierras/silverados 1500 with the 4cyl turbos have the same power as their entry level V8

i'm not gonna watch TFL content on rumors since they just repeat the same 5 lines until they can put an add on the video. but a 4cly/3cyl turbo hybrid if they can make with around the 350hp/350tq mark and keep a 26+MPG city i would be very desirable.

Turbo/hybrid might be very desirable to the first owner under warranty.

I purchased my (retirement) truck intending to keep it 20+ years, I don't have confidence that the modern small super output power trains will remain viable for that long.

I heard some unsettling news. 4th gen is going to be a rebadged new GM midsize. With a detuned 2.7turbo from GM and their 8spd auto with 5 and 6 gear locked out, so it's still a 6spd auto, and the only transmission available.

Toyota said the hell with the fans, they didn't want to take the time and spend any more money on 4th gen development.

I hate it too, but I’m curious if it has anything to do with aerodynamics.

Deff 50k.....As they said the Prius has been a hybrid since 97 if anyone can make a good hybrid it is Toyota/Lexus. After the first few batches they will have most of the kinks worked out. Exhaust note may be the worst thing for me. All companies I believe will be going this way it is just a matter of time. On another note a trim level higher that the Pro I guess it will be the Trail Hunter with all the camping accessories.

It's a shame that this is the first thread on the 4th gen rumor mill.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
My 4th gen transmission shifts funny. Anyone else? At least i was able to mount 33s without rubbing, but now im getting bad mileage.

Pricing on the new Colorado/Canyon twins is out and their pricing went up about $3,000-4,000 across the board. The ZR2 starts at $48,295 which will compete with the TRD Pro. So if Toyota follows suits expect a $55,000 TRD Pro MSRP.

Couldn't agree more. I don't want a full size truck. Plus it would not fit in my garage. Older home and the garage is under the home.

I am Canadian so that means close to 72k. I will stick with my 18 pro that I just bought a few months ago. I still check the used ones in Canada and am still happy with what I paid. Seems like same year and km they are asking about 10-12k more than what I got it for. But I did just make a thread on the possible new Stout which I said if it would haul my sxs and trailer that is all I would need

Being that the average lifespan of a turbo is about half the life span of our current NA engines, they’re perfectly fine for the lease guys and those with tons of money to throw into a new vehicle every few years.

But for guys like me who want to stay in control of our finances, we want the “option” to buy or not to buy.

I’d hate to think of what the cost would be to have to R/R a turbo out of warranty if the cab has to come out or be lifted with stealership labor rates approaching $200 an hr, because that might "force" me to buy.

    Make any sense?

I hate the high bedside on the new Ranger, looks like you need a ladder to reach in the bed.

No doubt about it, they will sell the hell out of them… Tacoma has one of the strongest group of enthusiasts in the world… yes world. In the aftermarket world they are extremely strong… not Jeep strong but damn close! Most people will not be able to buy one for a while because of the market adjustments that will follow their arrival… stupid people will pay extra… look at the Tundras. I’m sure that lots of people are sick to their stomach after paying out the a** for a new Tundra.

This. Driving an F-150 is like driving a parade float. Tacoma is so much more nimble, and way easier to wheel, park, maneuver, etc.
