Next up was some headlight repair. Passanger side went out and hoped it was just the bulb. Turns out the HID controller went out. I had to drop the bumper and tear everything out until I determined it was the controller. Good thing for Amazon. While I was at it I opened up the headlights. Last season I was getting some moisture so they needed to get resealed. Also noticed the Halos were lose so added some JB weld to keep them in place.

This damn gold thing was the problem.

Added some moisture vents to help vent any that makes its way in. First time around I was rushed to get them going but took some extra time. Should be good but you never know.

I figured some good news but nope. I had readjusted the projector and added some JB weld to keep it from shaking around (it has become loose). Turns out I adjusted the passenger one slightly so its coked at a 45 degree angle or so. Not happy about this. The output is great but looks cut off is all fucked up. Need to figure out how to get the JB off without destroying the lights.

upgraded to Philips bulbs. These things are crazy bright compared to the older (I think ACME cheap HIDs). 640lux vs 1040lux. Last few pictures do not even do it justice.

had a nice little mod day at @Toynado spot. Did not get much photos. Removed the bypasses for now until I can fix the damaged one and finally got around to adding the BAMF skid. all in all pretty easy. The included bolts were too long so had to stack a bunch of washers for it to tighten. The stock is way to short. The bad part here is my exhaust re-route sits on top of the trans skid. Only if it was 1/2” higher we would be good. Now I get a loud noise driving especially turning. Seems fine just the exhaust not having room to move around. Also a fun vibration that’s is transferred now that it’s in contact with the skid. May remove it soon. I need to bring the truck in for some exhaust work anyway with the SC install coming up.

This was one of those mods that sat in the garage for awhile and just never got around to it.

Then to make matters more fun my fridge died on me again. great customer service on the CSI setup. New controller is on its way. Hopefully that’s all all I need.

Been too busy to get out since our trip to CO in the summer and the shit keeps piling up and the trucks not even being driven. Go figure.

On some semi positive news swapped the entune premium Nav unit for a Dasaita PX6 Android unit. It’s a pretty cool head unit that allows you to access all sorts of apps but info on it is a bit confusing. they obviously built the faceplate for early 2nd gens as the clock does not fit. Shipped via DHL and came quick. If you do not get the right parts up front those will take forever. 3-4 weeks via EMS or China Post so order up.

Forgot to snag a photo but it also added wireless CarPlay and works great with IOS13. New to CarPlay myself but it is way better than previous generation CarPlay.

Had to buy an old radio to grab the part to mount it. Not perfect but it’s in there.

The other part is they are not clear in the harness except to message them and it’s not 100% you will get the right one. If you are 2012+ then you need the canbus JBL harness even if you do not have a JBL setup. Once that arrived after some trial and error getting stuff to fit I have all the SWC and more functionality as stock as you can program short and long actions.

you can sync up an OBD reader for fusion or torque

I have been having issues with my TPMS and added some external sensors. For a 2nd gen it’s a nice to know actual pressure instead of normal or low. you can set low and high setting along with tire temps.

Also plays the football games with various apps. Or check on your cameras back home. Obviously for when your parked. This will come in handy while the kid knocks out in the car and waiting for family to return from errands etc.

For trips I have various apps like Gaia and All trails which is neat to have. Still messing with it but the HU is pretty much a tablet with car radio features.

Forgot that when I was finishing up the Android Unit install I noticed this on the HVAC panel. This may explain why it does not fully light up. Lights up dim but does not provide full brightness. Still not explain what went bad. The wire, a fuse or something else. Just glad this shit did not catch fire. The HVAC still works fine minus the lighting. Been one of those months with the truck and not even getting to enjoy it. Anyone have any ideas or what to check I am a bit stuck as I had checked everything before (obviously missed this)

added extra solar for the winter months and upcoming summer fun. I run fridge and accessories 24/7. 2x100 watt renogy panels. Not getting 200 watts due to weather but over 120 watts on sunny days so far. Battery seems much happier as well. Stays topped off.

some douche bags stole the catalytic converter off my commuter so it’s been out of commission. Trying to work around it for now. currently getting all the fun 02 sensor errors and bad airflow due to missing catalytic converter. add a bing and 02. Waiting on an 02 sim. stupid CA Ultra Low Emission converters are bank.

A lot is coming in the next few months for the taco. I figure I need to get the SC installed before heading out to fjsummit since that’s where It came from. Still can’t believe I walked away with it.
A bunch is in store to go along with it. build thread will start to get busy again with the list of stuff from page 1.

will post up as I dig stuff out and start the install.

CSF Tacoma specific double radiator to help with the smaller pulley, time and some other goodies.

A little weather can’t stop the need for speed! Ha weather came in and I had set aside today to work on the truck. I was not going to let that stop me.

Almost have the top end of the supercharger install completed. skipped the TRD spec’d injectors for some flow match FIC 650lb injectors. I have new fuel rails but still need a few parts. The stock rails will be fine. New rails are more bling. TBD if there is a big benefit yet.

Holy Gap City!!! I knew I needed new plugs but look at the gap on the old plugs compared to the new colder plugs. I’m sure this wasn’t doing me any favors

didn’t get much time in today but was able to remove all the skids, drain the engine/radiator, shortened oil filler to tundra setup and started on the drive system by removing the fan. Pulled the ECU for some @JustDSM flash work.
