Decently productive day yesterday. Swapped in water pump spacer for the SC, swapped out the cam gears for @mightytacoman 3 degree retard setup, cleaned the valve covers and swapped the plugs for the new colder Denso’s for the SC.

Did not snap a photo but ECU also arrived back form @JustDSM with a fresh TRD SC tune flashed onto it.

Mailman had a stack for me yesterday. @Up2NoGood 2Lo module arrived and installed.

Shorter Gates Fleetrunner belts for the SC. With the smaller pulley it needs a smaller belt which these work. They do need one rib cut off to work. Pic of same belts one cut and one original 6 rib belt. Took forever. 2nd belts a backup.

Ha getting there. Hit a little snag that I’m trying to get past.

But I did get this fancy new NST SC crank pulley :burnrubber:

Awesome thanks. Might be trying it this week. Did you end up painting the fender or just using trim? Worried about rust as usual

I started to but that shit was taking forever but did put some press on trim across the fender and flares. Should be good. Check it here and there and no issues. Just measure twice then measure again and take your time. The trim will hide any imperfections.

    how much you cutting off?

I’m probably just doing my fronts for the time being. But I was thinking about 3-3.5 off the fender and 2.5 off the flare. Just so the flare covers the cut fender portion fully. Would like to go 35s soon

3.5 is a lot. I did 3.25 fender and 3 fire for perspective. 2.5 prob would be good. But turned out great. If you have a front bumper cut to match where you bumper goes to. You need to freehand it’s a bit at the end. Rear is 2.5 fender and flare

Ok cool thanks. Maybe I’ll stick with 3 on fender and 2.5 flare in the fronts for now. And yeah, was thinking about that today. Forgot I will have to cut the bumper. Planning on getting a new front bumper soon

Check to see if it lines up or if they can cut to match. I had my rear cut 2.5” shorter when they made it. On my buddies we pulled out the angle grinder and cut it off to match. His aftermarket sides were stupid long.

Chipping away and making progress. Had to pull all my switchpro and compressor mounts to make room for some other items. Will be relocating but need to see where to put them.

    DF059993-906F-4E5D-8194-055411F0D337.jpg 7485F94A-A468-4064-8CC3-FE2D9EC67F4E.jpg

switched gears and retrofitting the TRD intake from the 13-14 FJ/current T4R due to the larger intake tube in support of the 2.5” pulley. This is a nice bonus as the Tacoma version TRD intake made for years up to 201 but EO carb order states up to 2013. I’ll take it as a clerical error I’m my favor.

    73985D2A-CD5C-4D69-87D6-4063FFEAE104.jpg

Next step the intake requires a new MAF from the FJ/T4R as it uses a different connector and is just a different size. could possibly have used the Tacoma one if they had made it a similar mount. They just can’t make it easy on us. Next up is finding a good location for the SAIS as the intake was designed around not using it and takes up the same space it once lived.

There are a few options from other intakes by AFE, K&N and Holley. If you do not have the ABS junk on the passenger side you may be able to mount with 2/3 original mounts. Would require a 3rd to be created.

@12TRDTacoma has had good success with the Holley relocate. It does require that you extend the harness. You can see his success here.
