Damn! Trying to install the Helix switch but it is not lighting up. Tapped into the HVAC controls but nothing. HVAC won't light up either unless I removed the additional wires I am trying to splice in.

Received my Toyota Helux switch and wired it all up to find out that it does not work. The switch itself works but the lights do not light up which is the entire point of getting the switch in the first place. Received a lot of feedback and found a couple minor things to correct from some threads but the switch is toast. Its a small mod but I was really excited for it.

Just to put icing on top someone hit my truck yesterday or today. I am pretty sure it is the workers next door. They have been working on the house for a while and yesterday they essentially were almost blocking the driveway. I could get out but was parked half way in the driveway crooked. Today I noticed a distinct dent that came from the side (based on the scratches) and scratch marks. Of course they are old work trucks so finding any sort of marks is already a lost cause. Spoke with the workers who eventually called their boss to get a name and number but no resolution. I have filed a case with my insurance and a hit and run with the local cops. Just after I finished the look of the front end with the DYI grill this happens. Go figure.

Yesterday the back of this truck was past the white fence in front of my truck. I was out there trying to get the Helux installed so pretty sure it didn't happen yesterday.

    Fuu@#$@#$#%$@#%@#%#@%KKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    IMG_5676.jpg

Pretty sure this is the guy that dented my truck. If you look at the dent it would make sense.
    IMG_5681.jpg

It is minor but still WTF, not my fault but its a hard one to win.

    IMG_5677.jpg

    The suspected vehicle.

I had moved my truck but It parked like this or even closer to the street.

@nudavinci64 I like the build! Mind sharing your castor specs if you recall? CMC is next for me, but hope to get the best castor settings if possible. Thanks.

Thanks, its coming along. You can see my alignment specs here. I had it posted a couple pages back. Haven't taken it to the full extreme. Still get some minor rubbing when at full turn or under load and full turn. Its near factory spec now give or take. May look into getting the castor increased if it will help. I was planning on some tripping around the wheel well. I believe the main part I get rubbing is the back corner of the fender at the bottom.

I would say it also depends on your lift and wheel/tire combo. If it is not too extreme you may not need it. In regular driving I don't notice it.

Did a thread search for "castor" and it didn't pick up. :) Thanks I missed that post. Wow, 1.8. I currently have mine at 2.3. I guess I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. :fingerscrossed:

I do recall that before I did the alignment and I had 2.5 castor on the right, I was still getting some rubbing at full lock. I saw another guy (given he was on a LT setup and 315's) his castor was upwards of 8 and still rubbed. If you are running 285's or higher I would say def get the CMC done at a minimum.

Grille came out clean Rob. I tried, and it looked terrible!! I ended up getting a color matched joint off of Ebay.

I couldn't stand the chrome on the OR either. I got lucky and snagged a matte black bumper off an SR5, so now all I am looking for is a deal on some blacked out retros and LED fogs.

One day ill have Kings, one day! :annoyed::annoyed: LOL

Lots of patience. 5 or so coats of paint and 6-7 of clear and wet sanded The clear. Kind of rushed it at the end so messed it up a bIt but like you said makes one hell of a difference.

The kings are in your future..

Trip out to Frank Raines OHV Park on 2/25/2017. We started off late but made it out for a couple hours of trails. A good chunk was taken up after I was not able to make it across a mud puddle. Took the wrong route and slid right in. Sitting sideways. Met up with a few folks from TW. @frenchee @kingk0ng @SCVReady @sno pnda @taco_pat @TTT and @TK7692. @TK7692 big props for helping me recover along with everyone else that dug. @frenchee for letting me test out his Tred1100s. Mine arrived the next day.

DYI Co2 ready to get mounted. Scored a Co2 tank for $30 off craigslist and swapped it out with a full one at AirGas. Ready for the trails. It's a 20lb tank but couldn't pass up the deal.
