Decided I needed to give the truck a good once over after the trip to Joshua Tree and realized I have never waxed my car since I bought it. Its a completely different game trying wax a truck, let alone a lifted truck. For the most part the desert pin striping cleaned up nicely. I had plenty of it. I decided to do it all by hand instead of using the orbital buffer. I prob should have done that. Used Meguiars Pro Swirl remover cleaner/polish followed by Meguiars Liquid Glass Wax. Took so long washed the wife's car why I was at it. Technically this was the second wash after the trip. First one was mostly pressure wash to get the bulk of the dirt/dust out from the cracks and crevices of the truck. I will say I am impressed at how much it cleaned up after that trip.

    Day after the trip:

After several hours of washing, multiple times and a good Wax Job. Still not perfect but a nice layer of protection for next time. Driving around time she is screaming Mall Crawler, ha. She hides her true identify well.

I noticed that my passenger side took about 150% more desert pin striping than the driver side... ???

Funny, I noticed the same thing on mine. The rear of my truck on the passenger side was tore up on pin stripping. Luckily all on the surface but definitely a lot.

What do you use for a buff?
Wax always does a decent job but I've been thinking a little turbo boost couldn't hurt.
I'm close to dropping the deductible on my insurance for a sand damage claim (the desert special) and getting a fresh coat! Need my windshield replaced any way and for couple bill$ more I might as well just pull the trigger.... but in the mean time???

I need to see which brand the orbital I have. This go around I used old fashioned elbow grease and it came out pretty damn good, especially considering the pin striping that was present after last weekend. Picked mine up for free some a guy giving away a box of car care goods. The Polish I used time around was Meguiars M09 Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover (Scored from the goods I picked up). Cleaner/Polish and followed up with Meguiars Gold Class (grabbed this at Autozone)

Giving RokBlokz a go on the Truck. Went with the oversized so I could mount on the outside. I already trimmed way one of the mounting pints in the front but they should be alright. I'll see how they work.

Got around to installing my black 14-15 controls but still need to go back and run the grind wire. Need to read up on taking apart the steering wheel some more.

Thanks to @alvinfromhawaii for passing me the craigslist add so I can spend more money! Ha. Saw this a couple months back but did not want to wait. No problem now. Excited for the extra room this will bring and the ability to customize more storage.

About to get my MOLLE on!

All depends on brand and size. Even without it it opens up a ton of space without plastic.

New Grill came in compliments of markm0311 today! I have some raptor letters I'll toss on when I pick up my sliders from BAMF.

Before with my recent DYI colormstched grill.
    IMG_6791.jpg

Thinking of taking a tip from alvinfromhawaii and paint the radiator, etc Matte black to blend in more. Will save that for another day. But would clean this up a bunch.

    IMG_6793.jpg

And the current state HomerTaco Satoshi w/ M1 style mesh powder coated black. Much better! Tacoma world for the win!
