    Warranty...

The '04 warranty was expiring in May. It needed paint, thanks to FL sun and no garage; 5 tires , still had the spare from the factory; and a few $ in minor interior repair, 13 years no rips but the seat springs and such were breaking down.

My wife pointed out that after $3k or more in refurbishing it would still be worth the same per KBB and any additional issues would be out of pocket. I aksed her what she "really" thought I should do.. save cash fixing the old taco up, wait another year-ish, or buy new. Her response was "I don't understand why you don't just go pick out the one you want. Toyota is the only truck you want to drive, you just need to decide what you want it to come with."

So, I did.:burnrubber: Now we both love my new Taco. :yay:

Thank you. I'm still feeling it out. Aches and tummy distress. Also, where do you get a burrito like that in HI?

    Only 1 reason?

Mike Sweers made me do it, he told me I needed a truck with rear drums.

Well I wanted a truck to haul things when needed as I tend to need that a fair amount. But I also wanted something that I could also take offroad and do some milder trails and overlanding that I could take my kids out in for adventures.

My friend had 350,000 miles on his and he never worked on it... I was sold. The manual transmission option was a selling point too.

Nissan was a pain to deal with. I wanted the Frontier initially, but I could not get any straight answers or an out-the-door price from the salesman. They called me two weeks later to follow up (after I bought my Tacoma) and I told them exactly why I didn't buy from them... Strange way of doing business.

That commercial reminded me of this guy driving across a similar surface and having the rear diff grenade.

    Resale Value

I loved my 2nd Gen but it was a Prerunner. The awesome resale value made it possible to upgrade to a 4x4 3rd Gen.
