actually, there are a few of us guys getting together to 'wheel out in the Tillamook State Forest(probably at browns camp) this weekend! On saturday Timicha and I are building/installing some rock sliders on Chickenmunga's truck and helping him install his new 3" OME lift kit, then on sunday morning were going to go wheelin. If theres any chance of this working with either of ya, send me a PM with a cell# and i'll give ya a call and we can set the time and stuff.....

In this 2nd pic, it was a REALLY tight switchback with a big tree stump on the inside of it. mike had to use his locker to back up for a 3pt as it was lifting his inside tire trying to go around the turn, and we both bumped our sliders on the stump.

    Nice pics,

Did I see mention of building/installing sliders? I may get myself some for post xmas present. Am I best off having them built locally, or ordering Demello's or other TW vendor? Bolt on or weld? I am fearful, having a DCLB, of bottoming with the long wheelbase.

    Thanks Guys.

Thanks, and yep you heard right on the sliders. Timicha and I built a set from scatch for Mike that match the ones i made for my truck. As for where to get em.. thats up to you. Just remember that if you order them from somewhere you'll have to find a local welding shop/offroad shop that will be willing to weld them together and onto your truck. And yeah, they're a great addition. Mike and I both hit ours on random roots/stumps/rocks throughout the day of wheelin and if they werent there, we would have.. A) not been able to run the trails we did, or B) been reallly careful(and probably still smacked something), or C) just beat the hell out of our rocker panels. Thought it was kinda funny but Mike said "well, thats the first time ive bought something and its paid for itself within 24hrs." Yep, id say sliders are a good idea...

Thanks Relentless, that pretty much makes up my mind for me! I know a couple of people who weld for a living, bit may not know much about mounting sliders. I will check some of the 4x4 shops around PDX.

Do you wheel around the Crescent/Odell area? We have a cabin off of 58 that we frequent during summer for fishing. I know they do a lot of snowmobiling in the area, but are they any good trails for offroading?
