It is definitely going to be in a legal battle from the get go. It is unconstitutional so it will be fought hard. At some point they will change the way it is written, but in the mean time we, and they FFL dealers will be left with nothing to buy or sell.

"A law repugnant to the Constitution is void. An act of Congress repugnant to the Constitution cannot become a law. The Constitution supersedes all other laws and the individual’s rights shall be liberally enforced in favor of him, the clearly intended and expressly designated beneficiary.” –Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. 137 it
“An unconstitutional law is void and is as no law. An offense created by it is not crime. A conviction under it is not merely erroneous but isillegal and void and cannot be used as a legal cause of imprisonment.” – Ex parte Siebold, 100 U.S. 371 (1879)
“An unconstitutional act is not law. It confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no protection; it creates no office. It is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed.” – Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425 (1886)
“Where rights secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no rule-making or legislation which would abrogate them.” –Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966)
“The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statue, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail. This is succinctly stated as follows: The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it. An unconstitutional law, in legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if it had never been passed. Such a statute leaves the question that it purports to settle just as it would be had the statute not been enacted.
“Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principals follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it…A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supersede any existing valid law. Indeed, insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land, it superseded thereby. No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it.” – 16 American Jurisprudence 2d, Sec. 177
“No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law, and no courts are bound to enforce it. The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, whether federal or state, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void and ineffective for any purpose, since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it. AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW, in legal contemplation, IS AS INOPERATIVE AS IF IT HAD NEVER BEEN PASSED.“ – 16 American Jurisprudence 2d, Sec. 256"

tell that to California. They’ve been living under unconstitutional laws for years.

I’d rather stock up now than wait a decade plus. The courts aren’t fast.

Just picked up a Mossberg tonight that I ordered in a week ago. Background check came back in in about 30 seconds with my CHL. The total in the queue was 15k+.

I feel you. Love this state and have spent my entire life here. Unfortunatly the people running this state are doing a great job of running it in the ground. At this point it is not and if but rather and when and where will I be leaving to....

I really wanted truck parts for Black Friday. Looks like I get black guns for black friday instead. While I am eternally grumpy about the direction of my state, I'm going to take a thankful moment and appreciate a life that lets me pick between truck parts and futureproofing my safe instead of picking between food and power. It's really easy to get very black pilled in times like this. Give someone you care about a hug, go for a drive in our beautiful woods, and remember for all that the world feels bleak sometimes there are very bright spots to enjoy.

Early happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Also PSA is processing Oregon mag purchases with priority, and Money Market Pawn is the best rate/service value on transfers I've found on the east side)

Truth buddy! my biggest complaint(apart from how stupid and un constitutional this is) was that I had to redirect were my money went. I get not all are in the same boat, but the world could be worse. Have lots to be thankful for.
    HappyThanksgiving!

what do they charge for transfers? I usually use Tigard Pawn 4 Less who charges $25 for the first gun and $15 for each additional one. Nice to have options tho.

That is who I have used. But it’s a bit of a drive from the East side of town.

$30 + $10 state background check. I haven't put multiples in the same order yet or asked. I've been inefficient this panic and just been in the 'well I guess I should get one more' mode. So your price is certainly better. I'm just not driving to Tigard for $5. Good to hear some places have kept it reasonable. Money Market used to be $20.... oh the days.

Tigard Pawn 4 less includes the state background check fee in that $25 so really they’re charging $15 for the transfer.

I totally get not driving to save a few bucks through. Convenience has its value too.
