Hmm. I've never built a gun before. I've never even take my glock apart. Probably should learn how..... free time is rare right now. Nobodys showing up to my work anymore so guess who gets to do all the work...... yay

 

Bummer :/ if you buy that upper and a complete lower reciever you dont have to build anything just push a couple pins in place

Haha yeah my girlfriend's roommate is hardcore anti gun which means I have to sneak them in/out of their house and can't post pics of the gf shooting

 

What's odd is my dad owns 3 shotguns and a hunting rifle, I think a 30-06 but I haven't told him about my glock yet lol

Shits expensive AF. 2500 bucks for school every three months, paired with medical, phone stuff, insurance, etc would be a financial nightmare if I added the cost of living on my own or with other people. Once I'm done with school I'll be able to. Saving for a house atm. I'd loose shit living in an apartment. Guns I dont need will likely wait, but since they dont really loose value, it might be a good investment if I can find a good deal.

 

Parent's house parent's rules. I'd say work on that debt before you buy an AR

Fine, buy an AR15 lower and piece together the rest of the gun sometime later.

 

I've put about 90 rounds through SCAR on full auto. It had a ton of recoil. Fun to shoot, impractical to use really. Then again I am partial to the m4 since I carried a SOPMOD II M4 for most of my career in the army.

 

Clunk clunk clunk clunk. In FA it's pretty unusable. The bcg feels massive and slow. Not sure why it has any kind of following.

I feel like 10-15 years ago there was this false movement going on making the AR/M4 platform out to be flawed....piston driven was going to be the solution. Yet here we are, DI still king. Granted some of that was this idea that 556 can't kill good enough and out came all these other calibers that failed to lead the way.

piston was more dependable in the sandbox, especially if you’re around helos (rotor wash). It would still fire with all that grit and minimal maintenance. Especially when you go on mission and then have to do AAR’s. “Ain’t nobody got time to clean”. particularly if you're only shooting your gun 1x out of 5x times.

the debate has raged for a long time. At the end of the day, I say go with what works for you and your use case.

 

I was commo support for 1st group and acting commo sergeant on 19th group when I was the guard. Attached to b-teams when deployed with 1st, but attached to an a-team with 19th.

We had aks and other russian weapons we trained with too. But all the good stuff was for the team guys.
