Welcome Jami! Hope to see you at one of the upcoming meets

That'd be cool if Jason comes too. I will be camping Friday night, but I can head down to your neck of the woods Saturday afternoon. What time you gonna meet up?

That sounds good to me. You wanna meet up at my place after work, and we can get it all ordered?

I can probably make it down there around 12:00??? I usually wake up hell early when camping, so there's a good chance I will back at home & ready to leave again by 12'ish.

    We'll see how it goes.

I'm headed out to Salem right after.
On Saturday I'm stopping by HAM Radio Outlet in Tigard to discuss what I need for a mount and antenna. Once I have that, I'll make a shopping list for you so we can order everything up.

If you don't mind more company I'll show up to visit. Might even get that fuse box bracket idea going if you have scrap metal I can buy off you.

    You have your license yet?

I'd really recommend the Yaesu FT-1900R.. Get a Larsen 5/8 Wave antenna & NMO Mount Kit and you're good to go.

Think it was $200 shipped, and a $30 mail in rebate (that I totally forgot about).

Good to see some more TWers getting into HAM!

Right now I'm only using it for SAR, so no license needed. I was assigned an ICOM IC-F121. Didn't have to pay for it, but I don't get a choice either!
They recommended a Larsen NMO 150 BK, and I'm looking into either doing a passenger-side hood mount or get a Diamond K412 ... If I get the Diamond mount, I don't know if I need the CNMO or the SNMO

    Hmm..

I'd definitely get your license eventually, though.

Might want to check into what frequencies you'll be running for SAR - most 2 meter rigs will only run 144 to 148 Mhz. on transmit. That Yaesu will receive 136-172 Mhz, though.

Unless you do the "MARS/CAP mod". I'll let you google that one.

Yup - I've got the Larsen 150 BK. Great antenna.. Sack up and go with an NMO roof mount!

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I am looking forward to being in a place with more active members who like to go out and have some fun in the trails... one more month.

Pretty sure I'm going to have most of July off; going to definitely be making some expo trips..

Whipsaw and Hell's Canyon are at the top of the list!

Toytec 2inch leaf springs. $40 or trade. 30k on them. I have new nylon pads for them too if you want but the originals are good to go.
