    Kind of it modulates the brakes in the front wheels and prevents power loss to the wheel that is slipping.

    If one tire is spinning on gravel and the other is on pavement it locks the brakes on the gravel side

    So just brakes the wheel that's slipping but does it transfer the power to the non slipping wheel? Seems pointless if not

    In my opinion it works like the limited slip that comes in the rear of the sport models. controlled by the abs/traction control.

    It applies the brakes on the slipping side until it fools the differential into thinking that they both have the same amount of grip, causing the side with more traction to get more grip

    Not really because a lsd is mechanical clutch pack . I think atrac just adjusts wheelspin by controlling the brake on each front corner. More like a standalone traction control for the front axles.

    I think on exception for rock crawling, a rear locker and atrac can set you up for 90 percent wheeling. I do wonder how it behaves with oversized tires 35s plus....

    Just getting my feelers out there guys. The wife said I can take a day off sometime in mid Oct to go wheeling. It's a pay cut day for both of us so I'd like to do something more advanced than a forest service cruise if I'm already loosing money. Anyone want to plan a trip out to Manastash? On the 15,22, or 29th? I can only do a day trip.
