That is comforting. I would rather put that money towards an RTT first, then later on if I feel the urge, get something better than the SPC's.

While it would have saved almost $800. I did not have a garage, tools, or a spare vehicle at the time. The purchase, itself, was unplanned. On a visit to Mule, I saw the BP-51 brochure and inquired as to when they would be available. I was told that they just had their first two sets arrive in Portland that very morning. Before I left Mule, I loaded my credit card.

Have you done anything to test the high speed stability?

100 plus on road. 45 plus on narrow rocky trails. Totally beats the TRD Sport suspension. Faster you go the smoother it is. Sway bar has not been removed.

Spray zippers with Pam or use Chapstick. I thought I remembered some other material, but these solutions popped up in Google and sounds cheaper to me!

I feel that I out-wheeled my SPC, so I'm now on DKs.
If you are interested in some SPC, I have mine that I need to put up for sale, but they would need new ball joints immediately (an easy swap).
Being completely transparent, for mid travel I would consider JBAs for light wheelers/on-road people, TC/DK/Icon/Camburg for most heavy offroaders, and Icon heims for jumping and all-out-money.

Another RTT option is Tepui through REI especially during their yearly anniversary sale - I think it was like 20% off. I didn't pick one up as I couldn't afford it at the time but between the savings from the sale and then cash back from your dividend towards future REI purchases it seems like a good deal.

You dont get a dividend on sale items, but this is the route I will probably take due to REIs ridiculously good customer service.

Good to know about the dividend. I guess that would be double dipping:D

Ha I know, my first year as a member, my dividend was like $6 and didn't understand why.

I got a nice dividend a few years back, when I got some hiking boots for wifey and mountaineering boots for myself. My boots were something ridiculous like $500. They came in really useful after I screwed my foot up and needed an extra stiff sole at work for a couple weeks.

For you RTT people, just saw an ad on farcebook, and thought I would share.

    http://www.ikamper.com

It's a new thing from the looks of it to have a hard top 4 person RTT. If I did more camping, I would consider it, but then again, I can pull a trailer there and have a queen size bed and all my dishes and food.

This is what I plan to do with next year. I won't get dividend back from the purchase directly but I have an REI credit card and get 5% on purchases at REI towards my dividend which I believe IS applicable even on sale items. Not to mention I used the card for a few large purchases this past year so I should have a healthy dividend from this year to put towards the tent when I buy it too.

Hard tops have been done (main guy from GitOut had one from somewhere that was bloody expensive), but 4 person is new. Interesting, but damn, that price tag!
