    Workin' on it....
    Lol.

Reason behind the question was not so much worried the skid plate would bend but rather the threaded holes in the cross member getting buggered up.

I've had to run a thread chaser through one of the middle bolt holes because the threads have been screwed up in that hole once before and I'd rather not have to repair them again or retap the hole if I can avoid it hence the question.

so anyways, me and my dad and brother are going to build a prototype expo trailer. They are both welders and steel construction all their lives. I showed them some of the military trailer builds and they said they could easily make one and my brother has been building trailers for his work. It's kind of a dream right now but if things go good we could do a couple of custom builds and maybe start a business? Are there any expo trailer companies here in the PNW?

It's going to be on 33's with our 6 lug pattern. low center of gravity and rack for RTT and one of the articulated hitch connectors. Then will think about drawers and cabinets.

I recently saw this guy pulling an Adventure Trailers model and noticed it had leaf springs and shocks. So thinking about that right now. I figured leafs for sure and wondering if they really need shocks...

VMI is the only local people i know that do trailers, but you would need to get a loan or sell your home to afford it.

Closest one I know of is in Idaho. Nice trailers but all higher center of gravity.
Sounds great. I hope it doesn't change your front bumper plan!:)

Damn! No kidding. Just another A/T.
A lower price point with some kind of modularity would be great. If one could buy the bones (frame, suspension w/wo box) it would allow someone to tailor it to their specific needs and allow for lower initial expense.

That's a good idea. I showed them the price of trailers and they were blown away. "people are paying that much for them?"

There's one in Oregon. Don't remember the name though. Seems like most are small companies and/or side businesses. I could really see a more budget minded trailer company doing well if they advertised well and stuck to one or two sizes. Basically make things into a "production" welding setup and the time gets cut down a ton.

I still want to build one myself. I just need money and time.....and less projects.

We didn't get to adventure quite as much as I would've liked, but there's a lot of potential. It was gorgeous, though! You'll love it!

We have been going there for 8 years or so. It's one of my favorite places.
