    Sounds like it's time for a dual isolated battery setup

    It has to do with friction and use. The dirty tip causes more friction, which can be nice at first, but as it starts to get hot, the friction starts to hurt. Eventually, it gets to the point that you are tearing skin, and the pleasure just isn't there.
