Ended up finding my way to the top of a mountain out by grants pass, got to watch a bit of the meteor shower and even be free of the smoke for a while.

I am currently in the process of moving to Seattle. Literally, in process - I am actually typing this from a hotel in Wyoming!

The taco, my wife, my dog, and I are making the trek from Georgia to Seattle. Looking forward to some adventuring with y'all soon!

Just got back from Quartz mt, Shoestring, Manastash Rock garden, Funny rocks, etc...
Saturday evening at thee closest camp spot at Funny Rock - very windy, slightly rainy which helped the dust.

 

YESS! Finally spotted lol Few changes since that pic, I personally think she looks way better now. Think I'm heading up to lake diablo this weekend, anyone have any kayaks or paddle boards they'd be willing to loan or rent out? Little sister is in from California for 10 days. Trying to out into lake diablo and camp out around it somewhere

Made it out to build the sliders and got some fishing in up in the olympics. The 120v welder did good and kept up with the fast pace we set.
Looks like the weekend was good to most

 

OBDR Day 3 was a CRAZY day. Perhaps the only day we were less prepared than we should have been.

• One the one hand...You never want to find yourself in a wet clay "meadow" (shallow lake), miles from anyone, without some traction devices. Slowly sinking.

I have a 14 ft 2.5 person kayak you can use. The hard part is getting to it. I currently have it stored on a island on Priest Lake in North Idaho.

 

Anyone miss me while I was gone? Earned myself a one week ban for giving a smartass answer to someone who asked a stupid question.

 

With all my free time away from the internet, I was able to get a lot done on my truck though.

New brakes (Power Stop), sound deadened the back wall of the cab, added a 1/2" lift to the rear mount of the front seats, and installed polyurethane cab mounts (which I installed upside down to give me a 1/2" body lift so that my sliders will stop hitting the pinch rail).

All set for the road trip now.

Anybody thinking of mobbing down to OR for the eclipse next week? I know, bringing it up for the umpteenth time...

 

I'm heading down to John Day on Sunday from Walla Walla. Been looking at maps/satellite pics and I'm hoping to find a good spot to set up shop on a forest service road.

 

Man, its going to sunglasses to telescopes down there.
