It was an extra pair. I'll get them from you eventually. Not like I'm leaving the northwest for a few years

Hopefully installing my bumper this weekend, so I'm out. I do want to plan a couple trips for Oct. though.

Just saw another competitor for the most expensive front bumper you could put on a Taco. This guy clocks in at $1390 bare steel.

Going to have to respectfully disagree with Kolt, here. But it's all a matter of personal taste!

Is the winch supposed to mount outside in front of the bumper or something?

Here you go, Andrew. This is the GPS track from our last trip. I can probably did up the .gpx file if you want. If you look near the middle, you can see where we would have saved quite a bit of time going straight instead of back-tracking:

Its all good. To each there own. That is one question that I did have but it looks like it comes behind where you would put the license plate. :notsure:

Although the more I look at it the more the front looks like a mouth. I am also curious of what those bolts are on the left and right side of the middle opening.

P.S. while we are on the topic of bumpers. I finally listed my AP on CL. I would like to get what I put into it but its not likely. Like I told Nick (Forster46) I wold be willing to take $400 for a TW member.

That's what I was wondering too, are they bolt-on clevis mounts? It's crazy how BIG that thing is; granted you'll have more/higher clearance on the sides, but it looks like it hangs lower than the stock bumper skin in the front.

Thanks Will - I'm gonna head out with my GPS and see what happens. The weather is supposed to suck, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Dammit I'm getting stoked to drive my truck again..

Anyone interested in a bed rack? I'm going to be fabbing one up for my RTT, wouldn't be much of a hassle to get two sets of tubing bent up.

Also - planting the seeds for synthetic winch rope (Amsteel).. I can offer custom winch lines, extensions, soft shackles etc.. Anyone interested?

That's slightly tempting, but I would need one to go over my undercover-cover. I've been looking into how to mount something like that to the bed.

There's a member in Ferndale (korslite) who built one that exactly parallels my design criteria.. Everyting I have seen has emphasized staying away from placing any weight directly on the bed side covers; as they aren't structurally sound. I'm tying the base feet directly into the bed bolts, giving the rack the most strength.

Not too sure how you'd mount a rack over a tonneau cover without placing weight on the bedsides...

I wouldn't be looking for a RTT type rack though. Mine would be more for mounting some equipment and maybe the spare.

Interested to see your design. I have an idea in my head for a cargo rack to go above my canopy, since the load limit is 175lbs. Basically, it would tie-in/bolt-in to a vertical extension tube off my sliders (maybe on a kick up?), and the rear would attach the same way to the rear bumper if I get one made. The whole thing would be removable, and all weight would be dispersed to each corner point on the sliders and bumper. Sounds ambitious, but would be cool.

You would have to remove it for any wheeling. Don't want to damage the rack if you hit a stump... and the way you wheel. :D
