    I'm picking up a set of Dakars tonight. They are the heavy duty ones (5 leafs plus the two overloads). Most of the time, I just have my canopy and ~100 pounds of gear in the truck, so maybe 350 extra pounds. I rarely have more than 500 extra pounds (in addition to the canopy) in the back for extended periods of time. Should I install them as-in, or should I remove a leaf (I hear you're supposed to remove the third leaf)?

    I normally carry a canopy and tools and run the full pack. From the way your truck sits now in your build thread I would run the full pack as well.
